I've had another resonator welded in.. It's a 'Gonzo' resonator. Developed for the sprint cars over here in AUS - they need to be under a certain db to race, and they have pretty much straight through exhausts with this single 'Gonzo' resonator, it brings down the noise a fair bit with very little restriction...

Very unique design resonator: -

Hard to explain, but it's got no packing inside, instead, has a spiralling baffle the full length of the tube (like a cork screw) (16') with a very small diameter tube running through the middle (prob1'). The inlet/otlet of the resonator is 2.5' it has the same profile as other hotdog type resonators...i.e. 2.5 inlet/ 4' tube/ 2.5 outlet.

My bro has a uni lecturer friend who does engineering science, and he is going to flow test one of these to measure the possible drop in HP, we think it'll be almost 0...

I do have a diffrent exhaust now and it sounds much better.

Minichunksnj, this header is made for the r53 and not the model you have. I am sure RMW will come out with an r56 header eventually.

Sounds very cool mate

Is it ok for doing longer journeys? or does it not drone? My impression at the moment is that its louder than stock when cruising but the real noise only occurs when you plant your foot?

It's perfectly fine for every day driving. Like you said, it gets loud at WOT and you can hear the diffrence at idle.

You can just buy a CEL eliminator for the 2nd o2 sensor and that will solve your problem. It extends the position of your 02 sensor and turns the check engine light off.

This is what I am talking about.
