That's really nice of Doug. Way to go.

I got mine last year at MITM2, and I love it. Def makes the shifter feel more solid in my 2003 JCW MCS.

Did you post on another thread as well? Anyway, put the shifter in neutral. Then pull the **** straight off. Piece of cake.

Now you have to go drive it.

It doesnt matter what you do, even throwing on some led tailights. You still have to go drive it.

I really like this shifter. Feels good to the hand. Much nicer than the stock top. I believe it flows into gear a little more smoothly. Love the look except, I need to find a way to fill the design with black. Anyone know how?

Mr. W?

Several folks have filled in the engraving with paint, with good results.

I've never done it. But I suppose the key would be to carefully wipe off the excess paint with a rag moistened with some type of paint remover (lacquer thinner, etc) after the paint has set up a bit.

True, but, had one for my 97 Z3, 1.9 liter, 5 speed ... it made a superb machine into a GREAT one ... have one on my 07 MCS 6 speed ... not the amazing difference I saw on the Z3, but superb one more time nevertheless ... it will be a hard sell to convince we WSM believers otherwise!!!

I'll give it a try with some good hobby enamel. Will report back.

Thanks.

You must not be the tactile sort, Old Rick. I understand from classic movies that a bit of sandpaper can sharpen one's sense of touch. Even if just once in your life, you owe yourself the pleasure of this simple ball of joy.

No one would give $100 for it here on NAM. Even after Doug offered to refinish it for a whopping $5.00.
Doug is a class act and runs his business the way a business owner should. Thanks Doug.
