Drivetrain Do you like your Whalen Shift Machine?
That's really nice of Doug. Way to go.
I got mine last year at MITM2, and I love it. Def makes the shifter feel more solid in my 2003 JCW MCS.

Doug felt the disruption in the "MINI Force"
Even while a Long, Long, Long way from home....
The Yoda of Shifting power fleels a disruption in the MINI Force....
And makes things right again........
I really like this shifter. Feels good to the hand. Much nicer than the stock top. I believe it flows into gear a little more smoothly. Love the look except, I need to find a way to fill the design with black. Anyone know how?

I've never done it. But I suppose the key would be to carefully wipe off the excess paint with a rag moistened with some type of paint remover (lacquer thinner, etc) after the paint has set up a bit.

It's a bloody shift ****, for pete's sake. per OldRick ...
True, but, had one for my 97 Z3, 1.9 liter, 5 speed ... it made a superb machine into a GREAT one ... have one on my 07 MCS 6 speed ... not the amazing difference I saw on the Z3, but superb one more time nevertheless ... it will be a hard sell to convince we WSM believers otherwise!!!

Several folks have filled in the engraving with paint, with good results.

No one would give $100 for it here on NAM. Even after Doug offered to refinish it for a whopping $5.00.
Doug is a class act and runs his business the way a business owner should. Thanks Doug.
