Do you like your Whalen Shift Machine?

I installed my Whalen Shift Machine shift **** yesterday and went for a drive. It looks great and is a quality product, but I don't really care for the feel while shifting. I think it makes the shifter feel flimsy. Maybe I expected too much. Maybe I'll change my mind after I drive a bit more.

I'd drive it for a week and then put your stock **** back on and see if you like or dislike the change.

Once I put my Whalen **** on, there was no going back. I think it makes the shifts easier because of the added weight. Easy to keep clean as well.

Goodluck!

If it feels flimsy possibly you did the install incorrectly. It has a very solid feel and does not move on the shaft.

There is a notch in the top of the shifter stalk and a key type slot in the ****. Make sure they are aligned.

If anything, mine felt much more solid that OEM.

It only installs one way. I'm pretty sure I have it right.
It makes the shaft of the shifter seem flimsy.
As for the generous offers to buy; thanks, but I'll make a paperweight out of it first...

Yeah...flimsy is not at all how I'd describe the feel...it's very solid.

I have one that's rock solid - not flimsy at all. It's still, by far, my best mod.

.... you may have something going on with your shifter that the Whalen "amplifies".... something loose, maybe? I'd check the whole linkage, and also remove the **** altogether and use my fingers to check for excess play in various gears...

Or maybe you just have forearms like this guy...

I've had mine on for almost two years and is rock solid.and a big improvement over the OEM ****. I think checking all the linkage is good advice.

Whalen Shift Machine

Whalen Shift Machine is worth every penny.

It makes shifting crisp and smooth and fits the hand perfectly at any angle. Design, fit and weight are outstanding, and Whalen's service is excellent.

This shifter really does make a difference.

(I have no connection to Whalen other than being a VERY satisfied customer.)

Mine is as solid as can be; as if it, and the shaft are one solid piece of billet steel.

Such and easy mod that improves shifting, and looks great.

I don't like it. It's too small for my hand. The stock one is more comfortable.

Not a problem; simply send it back for a full refund.

I'm away at the moment, still making my way home from MMMT in San Francisco.
Once I get back to work, we can take care of your refund.

I have my Whalen with the adjustable Craven that I keep at its lowest setting. I also added the Texas Speedworks engine dampner and bushings from an ebay B&M ripoff. My set up feels like I **** a gun when I shift. It is hot like FIRE!!

Sorry for the thread stealer.

Chad, I've been looking to add the bushings to mine, does it matter the year or are they all the same. Mines an '04 and most of the cheapo ebay stuff is 02-03.

BTW I love my whalen and obviously great customer service, now I'm not totally stealing the thread.
Doug any word on those handle designs?
