I did the cam tonight, header tomorrow. It looks like the same header I have in my living room right now as well
Its so pretty I want to frame it and look at it every day. So is the street header also called the shorty header? It looks like the same one I have, I just cant see too close since my Mac fell off the top of my car and the backlight no longer works

start the car after you get the header on let it warm up, shut it off and then spray it down with WD40 and then restart and let it burn off. The header will get a nice carmel color to it

Well. My car took a crap and can't make it to the tune. Sounds like a spun bearing or broken connecting rod bolt. Im tearing it down this weekend. I am very bummed out. The funny thing is... I got it on camera. This is the last drive. You really can't hear it unless you know what to listen for that is different from what I know as normal

You can really hear it at the last half second

No it was redlined at third and then crammed into second.
Never cell phone and race

I'm all about RPM matching, heal toe n stuff. You can hear it in the video-

Got my car back today after the head, cam, and header install. Aside from throwing a too rich code (which I assume if from the 440’s and lack of tune) my 1st impressions is wow.
Lots more pull, seems to have a much broader torque curve and very smooth. And when you really get on it – yikes!
Makes an awesome noise, but holy cow it’s loud. Can’t imagine what the race header is like! Might be a little too loud, but we’ll see.
Can’t wait till Saturday and the tune to pull it all together and see what the gains really are.
PS - If anyone who's coming on Saturday is interested in some injectors, i have some 380's i'm selling.

Here are my results:
in: 202.8 whp, 179.7 lbft
out: 214.5 whp, 188.8 lbft
2005 MCS
stock cat back
RMW cam/header
HAI
Alta 15% pulley
JCW 380cc injectors
1 step colder plugs
Napa 60535 belt
E10 92 octane fuel
Exactly what I expected after looking at Searocko's results

I had to do a double-take as it's virtually identical to my results! The stock cat-back is the secret!
I'm pretty beat from driving to and from Seattle in one day, but it was definitely a fun time and I would do it again. On to the results:
I have a 2002 MCS, early build with 95,000 kms (~65,000 miles).
Mods:
Alta 15% pulley
JCW 380 injectors
JCW spark plugs
JCW CAI with K&N filter
Dinan one-ball exhaust
Intial: 156.7 HP @ 6793 rpm / 149.3 lb-ft @ 3997 rpm
Final: 170.5 HP @ 6756 rpm / 154.4 lb-ft @ 4021 rpm
The car was having problems misfiring since I put on those mods from last week. It would only happen during high load situations in 4th gear and higher....it definitely was misfiring during the dyno runs. We swapped out a MAP sensor that was oily, but it still misfired, albeit much less. The dirty sensor was due to high mileage and probably someone putting on too much oil on the K&N filter during the install. I still have one small mis-fire down low at ~3500 rpm in 4th gear and higher. Overall the car is much more powerful, much smoother and I'm happy with the work Jan has done. I'll swap out the sensors, switch back to the old Dinan CAI, clean out the K&N filter, and change out the fuel filter as Jan has suggested and do some more testing. He also
suggested a compression check, which is good as this is an old car with some miles on it.
There is one thing I never noticed even on the baseline, was that at 4500 rpm, the intake flap is supposed to open and you should see a bit of spike in power (at least I saw them in previous dyno plots with the JCW intake). On mine there is none, which makes me think the install was done wrong or it's not getting sent the 14V signal to open the flap. Anyhow, I'll find out things once I start pulling off some parts.
Thanks to Jan and my understanding wife!
On a side note, i'm running the JCW Gates belt with the 15% pulley, does anyone have the part # for the NAPA 535 belt or can I just go into NAPA and they'll know what belt that is?

I installed the header last week and all I have to say is wow. Great looking product and the sound is perfect. The re-tune went well and I got about 8 more hp and about 8 more tq. It has been said before but I will say it again, Jan is such a great person he takes time to get everything right. If anyone is on the fence about this tune don't be. It will put a smile on your face. Again my thanks go out to Jan and the guys at speed factory. See you all soon. Jeff
I am kinda tired after driving home as well. I got home at 5:00am. Straight thru from Tacoma with one stop for a 40min snooze and one for a 20min nap.
I have a 2003 MCS with 58,000 kms
Mods
Alta 15% pulley
JCW shorter belt
JCW spark plugs
K&N Typhoon
JCW exhaust
1 step colder plugs
Intial: 178.9 HP @ 6818 rpm / 157.9 lb-ft @ 3968 rpm
Final: 187.8 HP @ 7200 rpm / 166.8 lb-ft @ 3871 rpm
The tune was not a huge jump in power but the car feels better. Jan's improvements to the throttle map and softening of the traction control improves the driveablity. The simple action of pulling away at a traffic light is smoother (this maybe more of the placebo effect but I like it).
Jan mentioned I am limited a bit by not having the bigger injectors. So I guess I start saving for injectors and header, oh why not the cam as well.
Thanks to Jan.
