Fans not running... is it fully plugged in? I know that sounds stupid but sometimes contacts corrode. Have the codes read, it will probably throw a fan controll module code which means you had a short in the system or it may be a fuse. Put a new thread on it. Perhaps someone can point you in the right direction?

I can tell you that it's not that uncommon actually. I just had dealer replace my (under warrantee despite all my mods) fan assembly since the slow speed wouldn't work, just ran in fast speed all the time. I kept wondering why my damn fan was always sooo loud. Afterwards, I looked up online and found some folks think you can just replace the relay/resister and not the entire assembly.

They also looked at my A/C not working quite right. Again, they were unhappy with my mods, but looked at it anyway. Think it might just have been associated with the fan not running right.

In the end, they told me that my sc pulley was eventually going to cause problems with either the A/C compressor, or the alternator. Now, having been on NAM for awhile now, I've never seen anyone talk about that...

Oh, and if I hadn't already said, don't mind the Hawaii address, as I'm headed to Everett here in November. I keep thinking of whether or not to send my car out there for this tune that's being set up, but talking with Jan I will ship my car to his shop and just drive up!

I could stand a cross country drive anyway (up/down), as I haven't been on a long drive for ALONG time living here for past 6 years.

No interest? That's surprising.

I'll have to have a chat with him. There's bound to be interest from a few members. There are hundreds in the club, so...I'm not sure why he would say there wasn't interest. Perhaps not on the part of the club officers in terms of hosting an event, but I'm sure someone would have interest. Heck, the webmaster was on the prevous list for a Jan Tune at the last event but had to cancel at the last minute.

Anyway,

The web site doesn't typically have Non-PDX MINI hosted events on the schedule, and it does not get updated daily, though so I wouldn't expect to see on the offical schedule, but rather a special announcement or something. Also, the webmaster was on vacation, overseas, and wouldn't have been able to update the site around that time.

I will see about getting a notice sent out with the bi-weekly update that goes to members via email.

I'm interested in coming down on Friday the 3rd getting a straight tune no mods. Driving down from Vancouver that morning so I'd like a time slot around 10 or 11:00AM ish, is that a possibility? Hey ClintTheMiniOwner are you organizing this? I'd need some directions ( mapquest or gogglemaps) as to the location. Thanks guys for putting this together, looking foward to meeting some of you and especially Jan, I might be bringing the wife and let her do some shopping ( could be a reeeally expensive trip!!) then possible staying overnight if we can get some child care sorted out, if not I'll just come on my own.

Hey ClintTheMiniOwner are you organizing this?

It's up to Rorik. I would be happy to organize this. I already have a list of everyones info from the last tune. Rorik, perhaps you can cut and paste a list from PSM and lets get an idea of how many there will be. Remember, we only have two days so we must start early and get done extremely late. 9 to 10 cars a day was a challenge last time.
After we decide who starts the list, we should start taking PMs with contact infos.
I won't send too many names to tele-marketers!

James just called me, he said we will begin at 9 AM and it will probably be a couple full 12 hour days.

bout 1 to 1.5 hours.
I think everyone should post a time/day preference so we can all get an idea of where you want to be on the schedule.

Too short notice for me; I work both days and can't get them off. I might swing down one or both days *after* work but that depends on a lot of factors. In any case I'd just be there as a viewer not as a tune participant (other than maybe a dyno pull with the 72)

Sorry Jan, I'll miss you this time. Got a track weekend on 4th, 5th in Spokane (4hr drive from Seattle). So I'm driving out to Spokane on 3rd. You are darn right, I'm getting more seat time than Jeff Gordon.

I posted this at PSMINI.org site, so expect more people to sign up.

I think it would be an ideal time for someone to post Jan's recommended pre-emptive maintenance (plugs, boots, belt, etc) so that people will have time to do it or have it done.

Thanks Rorik and ClintTheMiniOwner I'm planning on leaving Vancouver approx 6:00am with no border issues I should be there approx 45min early for my 10:00am slot, but I should be hitting Seattle approx 8:30 - 9:00am should I add some time on for Seattle rush traffic on the I5?

If I bring the wife we'll be staying overnight, any hotel recommendtions? Preferably close to shopping for the wifey

My Mini is full JCW, intake, head, exhaust, etc no additional mods except ITG filter ( hope it will be here before then - Minispeed order) and appprox 13,000 miles ( 24,000 kms)

A few questions for you guys:
Anything I need before heading down?
$350 cash for Jan?
Does the shop take credit card?
I have the Speedfactory Tunings address but what's the phone#?
Add some commute time for Seattle rush hour?
thanks again you guys hope to meet some of you on Friday.

I would show up at the end of the day. Chances are, he could fit you in as long as the Speedfactory guys are willing to stick around. We were there untill 1130 pm on the last saturday tune.

Ror, Saturday please =)

I would add days, Seattle traffic is awful!

Honestly, I am not sure. When I drive north to Seattle I add about 45 minutes, but I have never gone up at rush hour.

Coming south into Seattle traffic will be slower/stopped from the King/Snohomish county line (Edmonds ferry/lake Forest Park exit) all the way south to Boeing field. From there it should be clear until you get to Fife which sometimes slows down, but not always.
