I haven't posted on NAM in like 2-3 weeks, but someone sent me a link to this thread and this seemed fitting...

Bart,
no problem, I never took it as such

I do inspect all of the headers if I am in town before they go out. I am more worried about proper welds as we weld them on the inside versus those that weld on the outside. (outside welds are more prone to crack)

I don't want to grind away at the welds for beauty's sake as the ports are larger than the exhaust so there is no need to do this. It's just cosmetic

Believe me, we care about the quality of our products and that's why they are made here in the US with US stainless steel

pics as promised (first is with the new metal layered gasket I had made up):

the old copper style showing that the header is much bigger than the ports on the head (ignore the leaks...Jan now supplies a better sealing gasket):

no joke!! look at a Milltek that costs more. It's hard to distinguish from stock unless you had them sitting side-by-side.

PGT

Here is a better pic of my street header flange, since you made comment about the original pic. Again, cosmetic only, and only until installed.

Do they come or does he offer them in any kind of a ceramic coating or is that not really needed in stainless header?

I was planning to wrap mine but was told it's not needed. A ceramic coating can't hurt since the cat is in the midpipe on the RMW setup.

Another thing about the Milltek....the ports are stock sized. comparing it to the outlet on the RMW head....MAJOR roadblock. Like trying to hook up a 2" cat back on a 3" primary

not needed but some have done it

I just cleaned up PGT's header when he sent it back after I changed the choke point since he now has the head/cam combo

Gee Jan,

I'm not sure its permitted to have a civilized exchange here . I think at this point you were supposed to make a reference about my mother and I was to counter about meeting up w/ you in a dark alley.

On a serious note, I appreciate the response, thank you.

It's easy to have a civil discussion when you aren't claiming ridiculous claims without any substance to back it up......

Interesting looking manifold. does the tigher bends after the flange effect performance?

The Janspeed is wider, but I had to modify the heat shield to allow it to fit over the manifold due to its wider design. Have you played with using the wider area if the heatshield isnt there?

Using this pic as its the same as the Janspeed which has shown good gains over here in the UK.

That thing is freakin gorgeous but I just can't come up with a valid reason to have race worthy parts on my daily driver....oh well guess I'll just have to get a RMW street version...its soo nice to have options from the best of the best. Thanks Jan and again...when are you coming back to the NY/New England area??

Steve

EDIT: BTW can we get a pic of this gasket mated up to a milltek header or a stock head for all the haters to grind their teeth to?!?!?!?!?

apparently not as we have made 253whp on one of our cars
This is a true equal length header unlike the janspeed
There are a few innovations inside the header that you can't see that are unique to our header

I should have taken that pic as I had the RMW, the Milltek and stock all side by side, but will gladly overlay the gasket over the stock header when I return home and post the pic for you. It's downright scary how small the ports are on the stock header (and head).
