Take this offline. The continued sniping in public forums proves nothing and just comes off as being unprofessional.

But Dan if I did that I would not get to point out flaws. I would have to be and would be professional.

big howe if that is how you took my comment but not what I said that would be your opinion . A non biased representation of header design I would think be welcome on this thread?
And the non thread related MSD insertion from you as, I recall also gave many a way to get empirical prof not so much a personal claim?

He's been asked before and stood down on the promotional posting. That said I've made IB aware of this continued sniping so I expect that calls will be made.

Policy used to be that if you sold products you either joined as a vendor here or they banned you from the site. I know plenty of local guys around So Cal that were just installers that this happened to.

Truth about what? Still waiting on this! The "we" would likely be referring to those involved in this thread...
As to the rest of my "retort"...I'll hold my tongue (fingers)...

I believe the only thing you will get anyone to say on header design is the normal generalities written for texts and magazines. Anyone with advanced knowledge, has IP at stake(i.e. vendors, race teams, etc.). In a community as small as the MINI, all you can do is have a header shootout and see who wins. Performance talks and BS walks.Originally Posted by Nitrominis

As for the coil reference, it's not whether the coil is better or not, it's the inconsistency of the arguments.

I still think that there was indeed reason to bring the coil into this as well.
It seems to me that the thread here follows the same style as the other.
Its just useless arguing. No data just the my weiners bigger thread.
Go on keep it up nitro your gonna get yours. Just like i am mine.

I dont know what it is about these controversial RMW vs. whoever threads that just gets me so intrigued. Its 3:40 in the morning here in NY and I know I should go to bed but I just read all 4 pages completely hooked!!
I know Jan is gonna be right in the end
...he's proved himself and his company time and time again but yet I still find the need to read on and see how it ends. This time it looks like Nitro crashed and burned at the end of the 1/4 mile strip. Take that Danielle Steele/Michael Crichton/Stephen King...this is the real intriguing literature that can lure you in and force you to fight off sleep till the end. Well until the morning....good night all and happy arguing. I'll be sleeping this off. HAHAHA

I can't think of another header that is made in the USA let alone has countless dyno runs to fine tune it's design. Most manufacturers are primarily concerned with fitment only.
I bought an rmw header and exhaust in November and then an rmw head in January. Jan swapped the merge collector on mine in May after showing gains with it while testing on Nathan's car. I didn't ask for this...Jan did this on his own to get me on the 'best' setup. We're tuning it on friday.
My point? No other vendor i've dealt with in more than ten years of modding cars has EVER taken such a proactive role in truly putting 'matched' systems together.

Wasn't easy but made threw the last two pages of dribble.
I don't question Jan's commitment to the sum of the parts delivering, nor the research and testing, nor the dyno runs, nor the quality of materials. I did want Jan to post some pics of his header flange because the one posted did not appear that "finished" nor match up quality wise to all of the other product pictures I have seen come out of RMW this is why I went WOW to pages back.
In the grand scheme of things, the finish may be immaterial but it is always helpful to have a complete picture and understanding of any product.

Well, I am almost sorry I started this thread. Hoewver, it has been both entertaining and at times.........very boring.
Your comment on the flange is exactly my conclusion. Maybe not cosmetically perfect, but likely immaterial from a performance standpoint. Since that is the goal......just install and enjoy the proven performance delivered with this thoroughly researched and tested header.

Just so you know no agenda w/ or against Jan. Yes, a little scrutiny of the craftsmanship on my part but nothing more. If anything perhaps the positive is that Jan will review RMW "standards" w/ his header manufacturer. I can appreciate that Jan does not inspect every piece made. Anything else I have seen pics of has been flawless.Originally Posted by mini_racer
