Magnaflow's new Cat-back?

I haven't seen anyone with the new cat-back from magnaflow yet. is anyone using this yet? it looks like a good deal and there are some places you can pick this up for less than $600 shipped. it sounds pretty good on their website also.

I don't know much about the Magnaflow cat-back but there is this system which I'm about to have installed. It's an awesome sounding system that is costing me about $350 all together.

i believe the pipe is going to be straight instead of the stock bending. but if the shop does need to bend it, i doubt the have a mandrel bending machine. the bends are fairly slight on the stock catback so if they were press bent would it be that bad?

pm me so we don't take over this thread. plus i have a couple other questions about all of this... thanks

You have to bend it in order to clear the lower center brace then you need to bend it at the back so the muffler wont sit to low.

A 3" pipe bent on a press bender is 2.4" at the bend which will be about .05 or so bigger than stock. If they dont have a bender have then use some mandrel ubends to make a smooth system.

PB vs MB.

okay will do. great pic. i'd call right now and ask but they are obviously closed. although i'm looking at there ad in the local phone book and it just says "custom pipe bending" so i assume it could be PB or MB, right?

why is the price on the website $918.65? When you said it would be under $600.

They overcharging for this car big time. This is the simplest exhaust ive ever made and everyone is overcharging because it has a BMW flag on it. So your paying "market value" for something thats easy to make.
Now im pretty sure this is just a catback. However I can tell you right now you wont see no 13whp from a catback on this car!

^^I agree with Exhaust Depot especially when the dyno graph shows a 2002 MINI Cooper S and nothing newer plus that is supercharged and not turbocharged like the 2nd gen.

like i said, some places you can get this exhaust for under $600. i have run magnaflow in the past and i really liked that they are full stainless with a polished muffler and double-wall tips. i think that is pretty reasonable for nice exhaust system. i was just wondering if anyone was running this yet? not trying to get into a debate of exhaust A is better than exhaust B.

Or they're charging what the market will bear, based primarily on the low number of cars in the market. In a year or two there will be many more options at much lower prices.
