damper=sick supercharger,wha?

Is there ANY legit correlation between having a TSW damper on your car and a failed supercharger.Can the "harmonics" from a damper really affect the supercharger's health....would the dealer or anyone be correctly informed to suggest this........OR am I being deceived?My car lost power.....ses/eml lights,limp mode on Saturday.I've been digging thru threads on pump gears,unoiled superchargers,wiring harnesses and the like.I only have 24 k on my '05MCSa,15% pulley.Help! I'm sobbing inside.Make it stop!

Can't see how a damper would affect the SC at all (vs. a new crank pulley w/o harmonic balancer.) With the SC pulley, I'd think you'd be SOL on warranty for the SC, though.
What 'failed'?

Unfortunately, as Eric pointed out -- all the dealer has to do is point to the 15% pulley (whether that is inded the cause or not) and claim your warranty is void as to the SC. I think most would.

hope you kept your old pully for next time

my charger is sounding sick, i had oem mount expire at 10k, so would be good to hear if these things are connected even if your now in the clear

17% pulley now at 30k, 6 weeks warrenty left

last time i had loose boot thought i had killed the car,
you can feel real sick inside when you think its self inflicted as well

almost looking forward to warrenty running out then i know i am on my own,

you said the SES light came on....did you pull the code?

Like stated above, don't be surprised the the dealer points to the pulley and blames it.

I am well aware that the "Pulley Did It" song is an old campfire favorite.

It's too bad drivers aren't allowed to sing that song.
"Sorry, officer but the Pulley Made Me Do It"

what's that sound?

-the song i'm singing is only audible to small woodland creatures....if you travel to a nearby rural area ,you might find a couple of them staggering about....bleeding from the ears....confused and generally in torment.
