Jan, that is very helpful. I am glad to know I don't need bigger injectors for my basic street driving. Thanks for the info.

Looking forward to introducing you to my car!

I figured that I would need 380cc injectors.

Is it recommended to go for 440cc injectors directly and have Jan down-tune them?

That way I don't have to buy another set of injectors in the future when upgrading head/cam/header.

What mods if any are on your car right now. Look at what Jan has posted above. Give me your info and will go from there.

Thanks Larry

I understand what Jan has posted. My mod list would require 380cc injectors. However, my question is whether I can skip it and use 440cc for future head upgrades, so that I don't have to sell, buy, and install again.

if you have questions feel free to call... I will get back to you
Hi Jan,

Hope everything is well.

Just wanted to reaffirm that I'm still wanting your cam as you didn't have them ready in time when you came to Bay Area. Definitely Put me down for 1 of your cams, the adj. cam gear along with the larger injectors since I'm still running stock.

I'm thinking to come down on the weekend of April 18th-19th if not the 1st weekend of May to Danny's shop and have you there as well if possible.

After these added mods I would need you to re-tune it again.

Let me know what weekend is good.

Sharo

I'm almost positive Jan will be out of town the weekend of the 18th. Your welcome though to come down to help celebrate my 41st on the 17th .

I've got an answer from Jan. He said that it's much more cost effective to go with 380cc injectors because of the extra time to scale down the 440cc injectors for the stock head.

How much of an impact on power/performance do larger injectors have? What about fuel economy? Even though I don't get to the track, I'd like to consider the pros and cons.

SORRY FOR NO UPDATES EVERYONE.

I've been at the hospital for the last day[emergency room] with my son. We got out this morning at 2:00 AM and I have to take him to 2 specialist today. I hope to get this all set tomorrow if all works out. I'll try to get a schedule set. We seem to have a problem with 380 injectors that Jan and I are working on. If you need them I may be able to get JCW's. Price is nuts do to the dollar. Dealer list for these is now $152.00 each. If you are planning on these you may want to try Jan- Helix [Eric] for JCW's or his own- I may get JCW's for about $120-125 each. I'll let you know. Please see what you can do locating your own and let me know.
SORRY for all the slow replies. I'm off too get my son again.

Larry,

Definitely do not worry about us MINI freaks; there is plenty of time before the Jan Tune date to set the schedule.

You need only focus on your family right now. We'll all be just fine. Best regards, Jon.

I spoke to Larry today. He's still dealing with his sons health issues which have been the focus of his attention. In between he has been working on addressing everyones questions and coordinating the tuning session. He appreciates your concern and patience.

Seems like we need some more people for this event. Only one RMW head so far. Let's make this trip worth while for Jan and get the word out!

Hello Everyone

I've updated the list with everyone's time slots. Please read post #1. There is a lot of info about injectors. Please let me know if you need a change of time. If you can come by on Friday there will be one of Jans MONSTER cars. Head, cam, 440 injectors, header and exhaust. The parts will be installed the week before. You must be about one hour early of your Dyno Time. If your having injectors installed let me know so I can set times up with Ekstens for install. Please PM me with all your mods so I can inform Jan.

Thanks for the kind words about my son. He's doing much better but we have more test in about 3 weeks.

Thanks for your patience

Larry

Larry,

my time slot on the dyno is noon on Friday, and I can see that you want us there at least 1 hour before our slot, effectively meaning I need to be there before 11:00 AM. Okay, got it...

NOW: in your now-updated post #1, you state, "If you haven't had a new belt put on in the last year I would get it replaced before you get to Ekstens or plan on coming early to have it replaced."

I haven't had a belt change in the 4 years I've owned the car, (even with my 15% pulley install). So, I'm going out on a limb and thinking that I'll probably need a new belt, too.

I will not be able to change the belt myself before I get on the dyno, so I'll need Eksten's to do for me. So, with THAT in mind, what time should I show up there?

This is my first dyno tune ever, and I don't want to be that newbie that slows down the entire day because of my stupidity or lack of experience...

Thanks,
Jon

If you wouldn't mind swapping spots with me (4:30 Friday), I can bring my tensioner tool for changing the belt and I'll help you do it yourself. Just a thought.
