>>I didn't say it was a waste of money because I don't think it was. I am taking this car to many shows. Everyone loves the car because it is amazing how they fit a system that goes in an H2 in a Mini. If you don't like it that's cool. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. But I think they look awesome and my friends love watching DVDs, TV, and playing PSONE on them. Ya, I have PSONE in the glove compartment.

teldon,
it seems you like to stir up **** whenever you can with the amount of hp he wants to push out of his mini the little extra weight from the stereo will not matter. why cant he have show and go if he wants. like i said before if you dont like it or think its stupid keep your mouth shut.

2cool4 school, i hope you get the hp you want and enjoy the cooper it is looin real nice.

I guess after reading the thread I felt like chyming in with a ditto. Show and go is a whole nother animal, which I have just recently had a first hand taste of. Nothing wrong with it, very crazy.

I'm older than dirt. I got my license when the classic was just beginning to import into USA. Loved the car then, and all these years later I finally have the second coming. I'm grinning, with bugs in my teeth. Personally, I'm trying to mod mine to go as fast as I can at trackdays. That's what I'm into. Others add NOS, etc. and go to the strip. Others maintain some semblence of stock, then mod the car where they can and go auto-crossing. Others still come up with a whole different set of mods and go rallying.

Any one of the above might think one of the other groups are nuts to be spending their money on XYZ. Everybody has a different take, no big deal.

As for show and go, my wife and I went to our first "Hot Import Nights" two weeks ago. An absolute gas. Hey, who am I to say what works in that world. There were lots of very proud owners and performance shop people, who were displaying tons of trophies. Might not be my gig, but I could appreciate it.

Hey, 2cool, go for it. Be the first on our MINI block to win a few "Hot Nights" trophies.

You're going to see a ton of MINI's done up like this as they become more popular...and once that happens, the import crowd won't be so quick to make fun of them. I suspect it's already beginning to change just by the questions I get from the younger guys into that stuff. I'd love to get an Alpine head unit with pop up DVD display, a color GPS unit, etc. This car begs for personalization in that manner. More power to him...can't wait to see what kind of performance he gets out of it.

Pebbles-
>>I really don't come here to have to hear about anyone being so rich they own all these performance cars then to have to hear them cry about the cost of a new engine for their MINI! Yet they weigh down the car with huge speakers in their boot!!!

Man....it really ticks me off when people like you come in here just to throw your negativity around. First off, who said I am rich? It is very rude of you to make such assumptions of my financial status simply because I have access to these cars. Maybe I inherited them. Maybe I was given them as gifts. I do not make personal attacks on you so I don't see why you make personal attacks on me. Secondly, when did I cry about the cost of a new engine? It is completely irresponsible of you to make throw around false statements like that. AND FYI MR. KNOW-IT-ALL, WE CALL THOSE "HUGE SPEAKERS" SUBWOOFERS. If you are done ruining my thread now I would like you to leave, and not post in it again.

Really hate it when I read a thread that gets so far off topic. We are not here to brag about what we have and not to get personal when for what ever reason someone wants us to know. Who cares what someone spends their money on, it’s their money and if you don’t have something constructive to say then why say anything at all. I hope one of the moderators locks this stupid - so far off topic - thread!

It seems like you just like to shout people down who disagree with you. This thread is in peformance modifications, not interior modifications and it was supposed to be about getting maximum performance out of your car.

Why don't you spend a little less time sticking your fingers in people's faces. You're not impressing me at all if that's what you think you're doing.

Btw, it's nothing that anyone with a lack of common sense and $1,300 can't get from Best Buy.
