>>You need huh...no offense but you sound like a spoiled kid already,If you have a ferrari and a porshe trade them both in on something exotic and forget the mini. If I was in the position you sound like you may be in,I would look at a lotus elise or something like that or perhaps maybe take stock and be thankful for what you already have cause nobody "needs" a 300hp Mini.
>>

WTF!
SCCA - dude - save the preaching for church. This is supposed to be about mini enthusiasm, not morals or ecconomics. Some folks are more fortunate than others, it a fact. Does this make folks like 2cool4school any less mini enthusiasts?

Near me the local Ferrari owners club love mini's. Numerous members have purchased them because they are more practical as daily drivers. Now many of these same guys are looking for more go. I don't think its a bad thing to have the high-rent boys waxing on about a 20k something sporty car.

Things only went downhill after your first cynical response. I know you're just poking fun now, but you do see what I'm getting at.

Lastly, if you're gonna treat someone like a spoiled punk you shouldn't expect them to behaive differently.

*****... now you've got me preaching (should take my own advice)

>>I will have to disagree with you. I just talked to the head of my local Bmw's service department. He said there is a 240 hp kit offered by BMP. And a 270 hp somewhere. By kit, I mean pulleys, headers, big-*** intercooler etc.... It does exist fellas, and I am gonna find it.

Talk to Casey whenever he gets online. I'm sure he can fill you in on some of the options that BMP will offer. However, my suggestion (since money doesn't seem to be *too* much of an issue) to you would be either 1) get a turbo conversion (BMP is/will be/should be offering it at some point in the future) or 2) do an engine swap. Depending on how much motivation/money you're willing to spend on this, see if you can contact the guys from Qvick. They made a MINI into a RWD car powered by a tuned E36 M3 engine. Although I don't know of anyone who's done it, you could try switching to a different (more efficent) S/C which, in conjunction with other mods (header, exhaust, intake, ECU, cam, head work, throttle body, etc...) might just get you the power you're looking for.

Adam,

Is hp the thing you're after or is it speed. Some may disagree but you can be fast with loading up on the hp. So therefore the 300hp may not be the fastest mini you can build. A fast car is a combination of many other mods is what I'm saying. But if you must have the hp you will definitely need to go custom, not packages.

If you want track and dyno-proven parts, talk to The Man, Randy at MINI-Motorsport He has a 230HP kit available, and there will no doubt be more power adders in the future.

An important point to consider is driveline integrity, as well as the general nature of front-wheel-drive (read: torque steer). The more power you have, the less drivable it will be. My recommendation, be happy with 230HP and enjoy true Mini spirit: amazing handling.

Good Luck,
Ryan

Sorry Ryephile, but when a guy posts
"My two other cars Ferrari 355 and Porsche Turbo are both sick in performance" he deserves to be doubted. I looked at his site and it does look like he's for real.

Depends on your definition of "real."

"A chicken in every pot, a TV in every car."

How do you watch TV in the back seats?

i'm thinking a Mini may not be for you man. But, it's your call. It's just very $$$ to upgrade.

Good luck!

Here's the results of using an interesting invention called a search engine:
QVICK search

Yes they do have one! And Casey, one of their specializations is "BMW Tuning" according to their site, so I'm sure they do sell their services, he would probably just have to go to Germany to get anything done.

I don't think they really have one. Here's more info tho:
http://www.mini2.com/news/news.php?id=116
http://www.mini2.com/news/news.php?id=118
http://www.mini2.com/news/news.php?id=119

Since those articles are by the Qvick press officer, contacting Paul Mullett on MINI2.com might get you in touch with the team...

I'm guessing that qvick would not be interested at all in making a kit to sell or sharing their information and tips on how they did it....they are a racing team and not a manufacturer and thus they prolly keep their lips sealed pretty tight.

Actually...they did. It is not a MINI engine to begin with. It is an M3 six cylinder.

If you're gonna be **** about it...its Nitrous Oxide. Or N20. N-O-S is a brand there, chief.
