>>Ok Here's the deal too cool. I would definately deal with randy. Het one of his 240-250kits and you will definitely have avery fast car probably a 6sec car and about 150top speed. You will be able to toast alot of the import guys remember it's all about h.p. to weight. Many of the import cars weigh in at 2900 to 3000lbs. I hear the 240 cars are scary fast...from someone who went for a ride with Randy......booooooyyyyyyaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh grandma!!!!!!!!

I once was a “2 cool 4 school”, took my college fund and my project road racer and ended up with a super fit V8, headers, heads, cam, forged pistons...B&B tire burning machine 425hp later the poor unibody car twisted so badly the windshield flex popped it out. My way cool auto crosser ended up at the pro suspension shop for a subframe, roll cage, narrowed 9 " rearend and the additional accessories, and instead of the x-cross car I started out with I had a pro street drag racing machine.
That pro street car is so stiff, the roll cage a bear to crawl in and out of, heck of fast quarter mile A race car isnt much fun away from the track. Lamborgini for instance is cool to look at but not a fun boulvard cruiser.

Its 20 yrs later lesson learned.
I am finally getting my auto cross dreamcar… MCS 04. No way am I gonna make that mistake again. HP granted has it place, for me corner carving is where I want to be.
With age moderation goes along ways. we all have to be young once. hopefully we live through our mistakes.

Saw this picture in a different thread or forum.... Was wondering who's car that pile fell into and someone bolted down. Everytime I see one of these systems I wonder if the owner woke up stupid or was born that way... because I don't need to hear the bass line a freakin' mile away!!!

With the power to weight ratio he's looking for, here's his car:

Perfect Power is definitely the way to go. I've talked to Sol, and he's a cool guy. From what I understand he communicates quite a bit with Randy, so I would bet that if this little project does go forward that there will be some synergy there...

Incidentally, I went back and read Adam's first post, and it's not really that outlandish...I think the main phrase that got misconstrued was "need my MINI to have crazy power" -- We all say "No one NEEDS crazy power," but maybe Adam was just trying to sound funny or something and it backfired. His boasting RE: his other cars was clearly not appreciated, but don't we often brag about our tricked out MINIs in all their glory? You guys should notice also that he said lots of friendly things like "Hey, what's up everyone. My name is Adam." and "I came here in search of the people who know best. Please, I implore you Mini Experts...Thanks everyone." All very nice, complimentary statements and requests. Let's cut the guy a little more slack in the future. He's clearly just not a great e-communicator...that's all.

Also--if Sol's sig is too big, does that mean that I should shrink mine down, too, Ants??

Well, I for one knowing what Adam has done to his other cars will be very interested to see how this one turns out. It really will be a monster!

Communication is always easily misconstrued and having already seen what can happen in the past with his unfortunate posting, I'm glad it didn't happen here.

Hope things work out very well.

haf

FYI laclede, the sound system I put in was especially designed so that you DON'T here it from a mile away. They are only 10" subs which sound crisp and complimentry instead of loud and uncontrolled. The only thing I will admit is "stupid" are the T.V.s in the back, but you have to admit they look cool.

ABT electronics. They are in Glenview, IL. This is the best place I have ever been. Every car in their garage that they are working on looks like a show car. The installers all have atleast 15 years experience. I highly reccomend this place.

ABT did that install! I know they are good but that's F'n Amazing. Every MINI in Chi-town will be headed there! Here is their Web site...

"Stupid" but i have to admit they look cool.

stupid, yet cool... stupid.. yet cool...

cool and stupid...

Why don't u just say it? It's a freakin waste of money!!

I'm generally a relaxed person but I abhor contradictions and can only put up with so much garbage and nonsense.

I didn't say it was a waste of money because I don't think it was. I am taking this car to many shows. Everyone loves the car because it is amazing how they fit a system that goes in an H2 in a Mini. If you don't like it that's cool. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. But I think they look awesome and my friends love watching DVDs, TV, and playing PSONE on them. Ya, I have PSONE in the glove compartment.

I like your ride, 2cool.

If you haven't seen it, check out MIni UK. Click on the Cooper S, and then select 'Accessorise your Mini' from the 'Mini Cooper S Kit' drop down. Mini UK offers a factory option for a dual monitor system similar to the one you had installed. I don't travel with passengers in the rear enough to justify it, but I always though it was cool. Here's how Mini UK markets it:

"Keep your passengers glued to their seats with MINI Box Office. The package consists of two back-of-headrest monitors, wireless audio headsets with independent volume controls and an all-in-one DVD, CD and MP3 player fitted into the glove box. So now you can enjoy the driving experience while they enjoy their favourite movie."

I hope you keep the pics and info updated as you mod on, I am interested to see your progress.

Peace,
Ravenwhyte

>>Anyways, I don't believe anything that you truly enjoy and continue to enjoy over an extended period of time can be considered a waste of money. I just went a little crazy when I decided to put those in. I am not going to get into an argument with you, because I know how that will end up. So I guess to each his own. Peace.

It would seem that since your original posting on this thread was about not being able to have enough power and needing mad, crazy power or something that loading up your car with a bunch of electronic gadgets is somewhat counter productive. Most performance junkies would do anything to eliminate unnecessary weight.

And generally people on here hate H2s.

I think our friend 2cool is of the Fast and Furious/Kustom Kar Kulture school of automotive thought, so purists (like myself) should just bite our collective lip and politely look the other way.

There is room for all strains of enthusiasm in both the Automotive world and on this board and you don't have to agree with everybody. My personal thoughts about all the monitors and glittery audio equipment are not really constructive and so will not be added to the fray.

Cheers, Adam! I salute your enthusiasm if not... yada, yada.

Well I am sort of of the Fast and Furious culture. But then again not really. The Mini is the only car I have do this to, and probably the only car I will do this to. I like keeping the 355 and Turbo pure. But in regards to the Mini. It was just asking to be modified.
