MINIs may be different, but with Audis, they don't put them up on racks or even drive the car.

you could definitely get those tips and a custom exhaust for your r53 but the exhaust on the r53 is completely different so from under the car, it wont look like that.

all i can say is this is a must have mod. it should be the first thing you do to your mini . just leave the dealership and go straight to your local muffler shop and get it done. the magnaflow sound is addictive , the dynomax i had on before doesnt compart to it. the double walled tips look fantastic but they cost a lil more. im happy with the single walled tips they were alot less and it looks like my exhaust would blow your head off. cool . performance peddler has great prices too , i wish i knew about them months ago. i wouldnt have had to get my exhaust done over again but im glad i did . worth every penny to me. i had a 3'' dynomax on before with a single oval tip on it. i think the tip was a lil restriction. my muffler guy had to stretch out a 2 1/4'' to a 3'' and they had to fit inside of each other. so right at the end of the exhaust there was just that lil nagging feeling i wasnt getting the flow i wanted. now im getting the sound and feeling the flow. so get out there mini people and cut those mufflers off. you will be glad you did.

looks great!

i full heartedly believe that going this way is better than those premade catback systems that are double the price. Most muffler shops will fully back their work and its way easier to just go back to the shop if you do have problems then say writing an email to Borla or whoever about problems you are having.

I was kidding about that video on top. It's a little bit too much IMO. And they just stuck a 5 inch round tip on there. Too much

Ahh, still I do miss the growl of Magnaflows in the back. I grew up as a bit of a gear head in AZ around V-8's.

Does the magnaflow 3" to rear cat (without resonator) have that obnoxious batting sound when coming off the throttle?

I definitely want a little more meaty sound but not obnoxious.

Also, is everyone going without the resonator? Has anyone tried simply replacing the rear can using the stock exhaust sizing? I mean, really... this is a 1.6L, does it really need a 3" exhaust?

1.6l TURBO. Different than a NA car, 3'' piping compliments it very nicely.

i dont have the part numbers off the top of my head but the muffler has a 3" inlet and dual 2.5" outlets. The tips i have are the double wall slash cut round tips.

suwannem3, i dont have the resonator and i love the sound , its a sound you like to hear. the batty sound you speak of its there in my exhaust. you get a lil noise in the cab but i always find myself turning down the radio to hear it.

Seems like you're local... where's the shop that did this mod? I'm in San Francisco, but it seems like the workmanship is worth the drive, and the price is right!

im assuming your talking about me? ^^

haha i guess frisco isnt that far. The shop i went to is in elk grove, which is about 20 min south of sacramento.

If i were you i would shop around in your area to get an idea of the price. I paid 355 OTD for everything. Gas is getting expensive and could easily make or break the deal in terms of price...

anyway, here is a link to the shop i went to.
