JAN TUNE ADDS 20 HP/17 TQ

My '05 MCSA was tuned by Jan this last Sat.He added 20 hp and 17 tq to my engine .Since it's an auto, the trans/ecu confused the dyno(or vice versa)as usual. The proof was in the driving.A miniature MOAT run in between rain(very lucky),up Latigo Canyon,Mulholland,Topanga showed a very torquey, throttle responsive car .Jan is a pleasure to work with, just as many have said.
-a must mod!
Thanks Jan

Let see what Jan can do with my car (05 MCSa), but I have a few more mods. He's going to be in town on March 6 & 7 for tuning.

Funny you should post,as I asked Jan if he had tuned your car yet.(knowing you had one of the heavier modded MCSA's
The wacky graph thats generated is what baffled me.Jan had said that it happens on the screen, but not in the driving.
After blasting around since Sat.,I can verify
-Anxious to see yer results.

uhkay...
well...
I guess a dyna pack was located ,or he will be tuning on a different unit.
There were a few people(including me) who were feverishly looking for a dynapack here in town...to no avail.(you might have seen the thread?)
Which shop is the tuning taking place at?
-congrats

PLATFORM my tuning went ok, but was a little low, (196 HP & 175TQ) but over all not bad. Jan was unable to get my car to stay in a gear long enough to reach red line. The best we could do was around 6500 rpms and then it just shifted on it's own. We're going to try again when he has time to research the tranny and come up with a way to hold it in gear long. At least until 7000rpms.

I hear ya!
The same thing was happening to me.
I'm certain your car is got a lot more ummmpphh there than the dyno is tellin'! You have a sweet car!
I cant help but think that my #'s were conservative due to the tranny gnome.
For mine-I'd like to attend to some new plugs, since Jan was noticing a small miss in the 2 k area.Clean the air filter-then dyno again someday(maybe after rmw head)-God Please. He showed me one during the tune.-nice.

Does your car feel significantly spicier even still?

Congrats on the tune.
Are you goin to amviv still?

Yes I'll be at AMVIV. I talked to Jan today and we are going to retune it in a couple of weeks or so. We both think it has alot more, and I think he wants to break the code on the automatics.

We had the same problem when he tuned mine. Couldn't get it to stop shifting. Never could get a good hp figure as it was always low due to the shifting.

We did gain 20 lbs. of torque in the midrange with his tune.

Car runs much better.

I had a MTH Tuner file "tuned to the 380 injectors". I had the file sent to them after I added the injectors, however it was still running very rich. Thanks MTH.

After AMVIV I'm going down to Jan's place and leave my car so he can play with it and try to find out if can break the codes for the tranny. Will see.

Just tuned in

Just saw Jan today. Thank you! My stock 05 MCSa gained 18hp and 14tq. Really hope you figure out the tranny codes.
