Most forums have specific stickys related to Dyno plots. If we get enough people here, i think that we could get this started. I know there are tons of people with dyno plots.... Hello, anyone home?

I don't have the sheets but I have video that shows the numbers

The car had 7000 miles and was bone stock.

Bone stock R56S... or bone stock R56S+JCW Engine Kit? Your numbers (if at the wheels) look to be the latter.

Here's mine (with the JCW kit, too).

180.21 whp and 204.25 lb/ft of torque.

Is that corrected for drivetrain loss or at the wheels? If at the wheels then you have a really strong one.

That's at the wheels with a Correction Factor of 1.17. It was about 80ºF yesterday and we're at 6200 feet. We used a 1/2 Correction Factor. Standard Correction for my elevation/temp would have been around 1.3x.... so yeah, it's pretty strong. And I did not... nor will not follow the recommended break in procedure! Drive it hard, seat the rings quickly!

First, I didn't think our cars were losing 15% from flywheel to wheels.

Second, I thought all dynos measure WHP. They're not taking out the engine and putting it on a dyno.

Third, I take any tuner/manufacturer's dynos with a grain of salt.

Here's mine, after it was tuned by Jan Brueggeman from Revolution MINI Works. (sorry for the bad scan)...

201.5 HP at the wheels, (gained 12.9 HP with the RWM ECU tune)
187.7 ft.-lbs. (gained 8.9 ft.-lbs. with the ECU tune)

Would have been even more gain, if I had larger fuel injectors installed. Stepping up to the JCW 380's would have been ideal, but I'm still pretty happy to break 200 whp with the stock injectors. You can see the power trail off at the upper RPM range, which is a clear indicator that I'm running out of fuel...

Oh well, still happy!

slightly off topic but not really... lets say I want to get my car dyno'd...

what am I looking for in terms of a dyno facility, type of dyno, test conditions, correction settings etc?

It seems numbers here are regularly put into question because of the many variables...

LOL... stay with me here. Variables are Constant

The Variables from Sea Level to Altitude, from a 60ºF day to a 90ºF day, from dyno to different dyno will always be there and numbers will always be a little different. The only way to combat the Variables is to compare dyno numbers back to back at the same dyno at the same day. AKA - a Dyno Day.

There is a SAE Standard Correction factor that takes air temperature, humidity and barometric pressure in to account... but IMO it doesn't always provide 100% accurate results (especially at 6000 feet and on Turbo Cars). My car made 177hp/210tq with only HALF the SAE Correction Factor. If we added in the full CF the numbers would be way inflated.
