How much would upgrading my fuel injectors really help? I'm planning on keeping the engine mods simple since I still use it as a daily driver, just want a bit more power. So intake, one ball mod, smaller pulley(haven't decided on size yet), colder plugs, spark plug wires, coil, fuel injectors, and finally a custom tune. The fuel injectors are looking a bit expensive right now, and just wanted some input. Thanks!
I have a 2005 MCS w/ basic mods (15%, CAI, exhaust, JCW 380s) and still ran out of fuel above 6500 rpm w/ Jan's tune. IMO, 380 injectors are a must to maximize the benefits of the awesome RMW tune.

How lean were you running the last 500 rpm or so Larry?
What A/F did you and Jan want to produce that high up? Did you upsize your injectors over the JCW then?
Jeremy
I'll let Jan speak to this issue but I believe he wanted the A/F in the mid to high 11s. The A/F only went into the 12s at the very top (above 6500). I do 99% of my driving below 6,000 rpm and the TQ and HP curve were so good, we did not want to change anything. The car has never run better and I have thrown no lean codes. Check out how flat the TQ curve is. The car is an entirely different animal after Jan's tune. The green curves are a prior RMW tune, not baseline.

Damn lean after 6500 with 380's? What did you have on the car?
2005 MCS w/ Alta CAI, 15% pulley, 62 mm TB (waste of $$), Milltek CB, and Viagra in the gas tank) Seriously, Jan mentioned that I had a very, very strong car. My peak WHP and TQ are 219.4 and 193.4 respectively and the area under the TQ curve is awesome.

Very impressive!
When would we throw a lean code that high in the rev band: 13, 14, 15, A/F ratios?
Thanks JIMINNI for that link, and everyone else for the responses. It definitely sounds like injectors are a good idea since I want a custom tune. Would it still be worth getting the tune if it's not done by Jan? Who in the San Diego area can do it? I would even drive to LA if it's worth it.
Thanks, I never really looked up where he is. Didn't know he was in Irvine! Well, his business is anyway. So when I'm ready I just call him and setup a date and time? Also, it would still be about an hour and 10 minute drive, so would it be best to install the fuel injectors once I get there?
