That I cannot explain. I drew my conclusion from my own experience with my oil pressure gauge.

Lets not start this. It's not from over spinning. There are a whole lot of us spinning this high and beyond with no problems. look at Gnatster for example, he spins his to 8K and has for a long time.

Lets see what Danny has to say after taking the engine apart. I can tell you that like me Mario pounds the hell out of his car. He definitely has had a bad run. The real sad part is he that he is a really good guy.

Time to start over??? Still not sure.
I have been tempted a few times to start a business with other people put I have heard stories like your all to many times. I hope you get that worked out because I'm sure that is your biggest headache. Even bigger then the car.

Man I am disgusted that your luck has not changed. Rough run man but lets hope it isn't as bad as you think.

After you find the damage sit back and think about your options before taking action. If you need anything let me know.

Most of you are funny. For one...a 135 vs. a 335 is only $5K cheaper if that and 300 or so lbs lighter. I would opt for a 335 ANYDAY. Now, as far as the E46 M3 it will be a good match but now you can get used E46 M3's for cheaper. AND, you can go with HPF's 750+HP kit. Now, if your talking the E92 M3...It's badass but a little steep @ 65-75K. The Mini's motor should be able to take 7-8K RPM for a long time. You can bounce off the rev limiter for awhile and be fine. Something just gave up (i.e. like a valve). It HAPPENS people. Nothing lasts forever or is bulletproof. I redline my MC all day long bouncing it off the tach and I think it LIKES it! So does my MIDLANDS tranny.

It sux Mario...you have alot invested into the car. Your used to tons of power. Maybe another frame is better suited for you?

Well said... please let's wait and see....

9400 RPM is the highest I have hit.. and I have stock head/valve train!! I regularly spin to 7500... it's the sweet spot with a stock pulley and the TC... and on cool nights I spike 35+ lbs of boost

Mario... so sorry to hear this...

Just want to make sure we have our info. correct - this statement is wrong.

You might be able to build one up to the 65-75k price point, but I think everyone is a little surprised at the actual base price compared to what everyone assumed it'd be.

Yes, but what happens when the M3 also gets $3000 worth of parts. . . ?

Sorry about the boom boom in the engine.

you have an M3 with nice CF goodies

I've driven two stock 335i's and two Vishnu modded 335i's. I'm pining for a 535xi Touring to replace my LGT wagon. Stupid power, BMW suspension tuning....they know how to hit that sweet spot between handling and ride Q

That **really** blows & with all the other items you're dealing with, the motor seizing is like adding insult to injury. I've enjoyed watching your posts & seeing your car buildup (which I consider to be in the 'top 5' Mini category, btw). Keep your head up mang & for what it's worth, you can get a few laughs outta this: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x3g...-at-the-office.

That sucks man, best of luck. I get down over all the little **** that breaks on my MINI, a blown engine would cripple me. Get the 335i.

...if you can keep the 335i's motor form overheating and blowing up! Plenty of that going on too.

Sorry to hear about your car. I think its time you came over to the darkside. I see an R56 in your future

The 335 is a sick car but I think the way you drive you will miss the handling of the MINI. Perhaps replace the E55 with a 335 and get the MINI fixed or get an R56.

Ive been told even with that press release that the E92 M3 is still gonna be based in the $60K range. My range might have been a tad high but I was comparing a moderately modded 335 to the same M3. I know when I was pricing out an E46 M3 the price came to $71K!
