Alta vs. AEM vs. Injen vs. M7 vs....

I have been researching for a while now different kinds of intakes for my 2003 MCS... the intake would be the first modification to the engine, and I plan to do more from there. I am curious to see what everyone has on their MCS... which works the best? Who doesn't like what, etc?

I had an AEM on my last car and liked it a lot... and for my car it would be atleast $100 cheaper.

So let's hear it... what do you all advise on getting?

Yes, the Alta IMHO, is the best all around. Easy installation, Great Sound, Reliable, solid gains.
If you like the whine from the supercharger, the Alta is the loudest CAI currently available to my knowledge.
However, if you are not afraid of a slightly difficult install, and really want to hear the whine scream, you should try and get your hands on an M7 AGS. They no longer sell them, but you might be able to find one either used or that someone has lying around. I had the pleasure of aiding on an install of one, and wow! According to reports, it provided the most peak hp gains of any CAI available (only a couple hp more than altas) and the sound was incredible!

i dont even think AEM makes a CAI for our cars, that said, my DDM filter cracked and i am using a dry-flow filter for now on it

DDM has had good reviews, but i had an Alta before and i think if i was doing it again, i think i'd do alta again

I'm planning on the JCW as you get the performance at >4.5K but have the quiet while cruising the highway.
