I can't remember where, but I did hear some other manufacturer/distributor was going to start making a new version. It was supposed to overcome some of the issues with the M7 design.

For the record, I have a AGS V3 and love the sound. Not sure it did much on the performance side, but the sound was worth it IMO.

Thanks,
John

why'd you undo it? and do you still have the part? if so, is it usable and would you sell it?

I belive the casting of the aluminum tube is quite expensive, and there was just not enough demand for it.

We hope to have it available by early February. This season seems to slow everything down and it's hard to get people to work. The price should be close to what the V3 cost which was $469 the last time it was sold.

will you be offering any performance upgrades for this piece.... a better fitting filter?, maybe a "little scoop" for air to get to it?

We are addressing the filter fit issue. We are also hoping to eliminate the need for lengthening the throttle body wiring harness. Once the prototype is back from the fabricator, I will know for sure. A "little scoop" is an interesting idea; I will have to work on that with my MINI since I already have the V3 AGS and hole in the shroud.

Interesting. Seems like it would be way more economical to use mandrel bent tubing.

Onasled, nice DIY! I'd like to see it finished.

Whatever the guys at Custom Mini Shop come up with I'd like to be able to stick my own choice of cone filter on the end (AEM please!).

Here is a pic as it sits now. Like most stuff, there may be some changes during testing.

Some more pics here. https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...d.php?t=122800

Dude, I had AGS V.2 and I loved it. I would ask people to drive my car past me while I just stood and listened. It would be Screaming as it came towards you and Rumble as it past you. (M7 Straightpipe exhaust) I couldn't keep my foot of the throttle cause I wanted to hear it. Unfortunatley, I have a GP now and feel bad about changing intake I wish JCW intake could scream more louder.

ok - so the real diff between the AGS system and what Glnr13 has done is just the addition of a straight tube between the SC and the TB on the AGS, whereas Glnr13 just attached his air intake directly to the OEM TB?

the straight tube is really the key to the jet engine sound?

will the Alta air filter attach directly without mods to the OEM TB and if so, with keeping everything else stock - what about the other 2 tubes? are those just plugged with smaller air intakes?

It is CNC machining, not casting... The construction the the tubing is quite complex. The price is appropriate considering what is involved.

I have a customer with an AGS he just took off. I think he's willing to sell it.

The setup Glnr has is known as the HAI or Hot Air Intake. Yes the straight tube is the key to the all out SCREAM and also the AGS doesn't have restrictive areas in the tube.

if i do the HAI concept:
1. is there an easy way to direct air from the front grille or the windshield vents to the filter?

2. aren't there one or two little tubes that go between the oem intake hose and the sc/engine? ppl just putting tiny little k&n style filters on those?
