QFT!!!

Find a way to get boots that fit and those two couplers in there, if you don't you'll regret it later!

The Alta boots are a PITA to get on but with a little patience and a couple of beers you should be good to go.

Well its now 55 in FL so i cant tell if it is from the coldness or the new IC,(or both) but it is a noticibly difference, oh and the cat loves people,

as for the couplers, they are the alta ones, i put the new IC in place without the couplers and there is about a 1/4 inch or clearence between the IC and the intake manifold(i think its called that), the alta ones where way too wide to fit, and the one clamp is kinda resting on both parts so i guess its ok,

would i noticed a big difference if i was gettin some boost leaks??

You'd definitely notice a major boost leak as it would cause limp mode. But a small boost leak of 1-2lbs you prob wouldn't notice doing just day to day driving. The thing I would worry about most is how much these engines move under throttle. I don't think it's an exaggeration to say 3 inches in some cases. That being the case it wouldn't take much to move the ic/boots around and create a bigger leak. The two clamps help solve this problem. Since the ic is pretty much floating... i wouldn't run my car without both of them clamped.

There really is no compelling reason to upgrade to silicone boots other then bling factor. I'd just pick up a set of stockers as soon as in convenient. I just wouldn't trust those clamps without checking often or on the long term.
