DDM Works CAI

Has anyone else had the welds on the tube that the air filter attaches to crack?

My wife and I both have the DDM CAI on our cars, and no cracking. If everything's lined up correctly, there really shouldn't be much stress on that part.

When you installed it, did you have a hard time getting the intake tube over the part of the metal tube that extends forward from the airbox?

Yes, the intake tube was difficult to get on, however it has been installed for quite a while now. I purchased one of the initial ones that were sold through Webb Motorsports. Last filter cleaning it wasn't like this, but now when I cleaned it the entire tube was loose and all welds were busted. Does yours have a weld on the outside where the intake tube attaches? Or are all the welds inside?

I'll double-check the locations of the welds tomorrow. I don't know how old ours are in the production history, but wet got them from whoever the vendor was selling them at the Dragon in early May of this year.

Apparently there was a change in the weldment from the earlier units. Dave at DDM Works is taking care of it.
