Oil Catch Cans on Ebay vs. Aftermarket

I was thinking about purchasing an oil catch can (probably mini madness version). Out of curiousity I did a search on ebay.

http://search.ebay.com/search/search...+can&category0=

There are a ton of them for a lot less (avg $25). I am pleading ignorance. What is the difference from the Mini aftermarket versions. I assume there would be different routing of hoses, which there are plenty of instructions on NAM. But other than that what is the difference?

Honestly? Nothing.....it is just to catch any blowby, so you could use a soda bottle for all it matters...you have to have them on bikes when you race, and I have used plenty of plastic bottles to route the crank case to. I can't justify spending $100 or a bottle and some hoses.....

The only difference that i could think of is you're paying the extra $100 to have a custom made mounting bracket that fits MINIs.

possibly, but i would think a piece of metal and a drill could achieve the same outcome!

Exactly. With an Ebay can, you MIGHT need to be a little more prepared for the install. Cans sold exclusively for the mini - focus on addressing a Mini install - bracket, tubing length, instruction specific & even Can dimensiones BUT they work NO better than a EBay can.

Actually, some of the Mini cans are exactly what can be had on EBay with a universal can for $100 less, save a sicker or other badging.

Same exact catch can.........

Also adapting it to fit Mini's PCV hose set up. (IE: getting the correct fittings to fit valve cover and turbo hose)

They are not shown on the website. You need to call Brad @ BSH 602-606-7973 or Clint @ DOS 404-433-2452 to order the parts you need.
