I have seen billions of Exhaust comparison threads, but those were old, and there are newer exhaust systems in the market. Has anyone done Dyno testing on all systems? Which is the best? Anyone? Randy? ....Randy???

Here is the list of the ones I´ve gathered so far:

-Supersprint
-Magnaflow
-Borla
-Borla(Sport)
-Remus
-Quicksilver
-PERFORMANCE EXHAUST - DUAL SEQUENTIAL MUFFLER(The one from Mini Mania, its too new for me, never heard anything about it, whats the sweet and lowdown on this one?) link to this one is http://new.minimania.com/web/Item/NME1022/InvDetail.cfm

There's one from Billy Boat. It looks pretty heavy and their customer service SUCKS! So I guess that's why it isn't on the list?

that "dual sequential muffler" looks like the NRP exhaust.

All exhaust systems' HP and torque curves are dependant on what other mods you've done to your car.

The dyno speaketh...
The Magnaflow is the reigning champ with the most HP gain, however it's also the loudest (especially outside the car)
The Quicksilver is very light, has good HP gain, and is slightly louder than stock (more resonant, not boomy)
To my knowledge, both Borla's offer similar HP gain (which is only a bit), with minimal increase in loudness. Same is true with the NRP, and Supersprint.
I haven't heard anything about the Remus MINI exhaust, however I've heard of Remus' exhaust's for the BMW 3-series rusting very quickly (obviously NOT good!)

That's my story, and I'm stickin' to it!

The old threads still hold. The exhausts still exist and are more available. You did not mention if this is for the MC or MCS?
I have the Quicksilver and like it alot. Works for me. There is no one best because they have different strengths and weaknesses as well as different prices.
New options are still arriving- many are waiting on UUC. We don't really know how good the JCW kit exhaust is by itself- this makes a difference if one has an aftermarket exhaust and needs to decide to keep it or replace it with the full JCW kit (to keep the warranty intact).
You might also check MCSHP.org for info. The problem with dyno testing is that each dyno gives different results. Each exhaust test was done on different dynos so you have to be careful when comparing. No one place has done the testing on all options at one time in one shop to my knowledge.

Ahem, Randy has Well, at least for the MagnaFlow, Quiksilver, and Borla.

In any case, as long as the aftermarket exhaust is referenced to the OEM exhaust, you'll have a basic idea of the change in power curves.

Cheers,
Ryan

Add STEBRO to the list... I am waiting on one for test but have not heard bad things about it.

I'm also considering the Rouge.

I have less concern about the difference in bhp increase between them all. My concern is more the sound.

I'm looking for a nice, throaty rumble. I've heard some nice choices BEFORE I was in the market, but I didn't pay much attention then. The wav files on the web are very revealing: Borla and Magnaflo both seem to have a squeeky, whinney sound at higher revs. Rogue seems more consistantly bassy throughout the rev range.

Any other choices, or opinions considering sound only?

Thanks
David

I did a lot of research, listened to owners and their exhausts, and went with the magnaflow. I am totally satisfied with the system. Even if it didn't add to the performance, I would buy it again. The workmanship is superb and the sound is simply awesome.

If I didn´t add one exhaust to the list, then it is because I am not aware of it. It will be nice to know of everyone out there, good ones, bad ones. Oh, this is only for MCS, which is what I have. I was quite interested in the 215HP stage 2 kit from mini mania, but am just a bit reluctant to it because I never heard anything about their exhaust.- Anyone done this kit? How good does it sound? and do you really feel the power? Pictures and sound files would be great. Thanks. Oh, experiences too. Thanks
