Volt MCS Exhaust

Has anyone ever installed a volt exhaust?
What is the sound, hopefully not too ricerish.

DT has em for sale for $375 and I'm on the fence with these. He's done a pulley install for me and I trust him but if a deal seems too good...then it probably is!

It does sound a lot louder than stock, although I have only had the JCW on my car and it seems much louder than that. Can't really tell if it will drone in the clip as it is onlya few revs of the exhaust with a Mini standing still. All in all, I like the sound. Wonder what it woudl sound like with some OBX headers on.

It looks and sounds like my Magnaflow. In fact... it looks exactly like my magnaflow. Built out of the same steel. Seems like a great deal! Be wary!

Ok, just got the go-ahead to get this and the OBX headers from the wifey. Yes, some of us have to actually run the pruchase of new toys by the SO (and indirectly our children as their toys seem to come first these days)

I will be placing the order in a few minutes for both peices. When they get delivered and put on, I will try and take some sound clips and pictures.

Side Note: (I am still not sure why my signature logo isn't coming up as an image anymore and only a link. Did the size guidlines change again and I missed it?)

Here is a Volt system hooked to a cat-less header.

Enjoy

Wholly crap that is loud. I really hope the OBX with the VOLT isn't that loud. I will b eusing a stock CAT on the OBX. :impatient If it is, I may end up keeping the JCW exhaust and removing the resonator.

BTW, found the VOLT exhaust cheaper here, but I am not sure if it includes the center pipe and mid pipe as well like DT does. If it does, they are selling it for only $250.

for that price I would assume that you only get the mufflers portion. careful on the intertubes they can be deceiving.

Yeah, after a bit more digging, I found out that they are not taking orders right now as their "ordering system is down" so they redirect you to another site. The other site does seem reputable, but didn't appear to have the exhaust.

I am still debating on whether to go for ythe VOLT or spend a little bit more money on an Invidia. I want somehting with a bit more growl than my JCW but not an exhaust that is extremely loud like the last VOLT without CAT clip that was posted. Will not having a CAT really make a big difference in the loudness of the exhaust?

Thanks,
John

I would bet it will not make enough of a difference, but we will know in about a week when we put a cat on this monster.

Bill, is that your car in the video you posted? If so, can you tell me what you think of the VOLT? Have you ever heard the Invidia and if so can you compare them?

Thanks,
John

BTW otisg5, sorry for somewhat highjacking your thread. :|

In Stock And Shipping...

Volt system looks great and is screaming loud! Eager to see some numbers! Performance Peddler stocks them for $228.71. Click "Log In" from the home page; type in "overstock" for the warehouse code; search for p/n 200423. Their sales rep verified the advertised system as a full cat-back w/ all piping excluding hardware (evidently, this is the only way it's sold) - but what's a few extra bucks when you're saving hundreds?

Looking forward...
