Probably, but based on the volume of fiberglass, I thought it was from the resonator and the mufflers.

Replace the empty cans with something that actually will quiet the sound

Mine did this as well upon initial install, but not to the degree that yours is. I do not have a header and I've not removed my resonator or cat.

Mine is juuuust right in the sound dept. My wife and kids do not want to hear me coming down the street when I get home.

i will probably be cutting the volt exhaust open to see what the problem is my fabricator said if he refils tha cans the same thing would probably happen .i think its the sports headers. which cause the exhaust to fail. i am now getting free of charge a volt exhaust from the company that sold me the original one i hope this one does not have the same problem

Its definately the fact that your running no cat. Much like cooperSS. My money is on the resonator thats in the mid pipe. I couldnt see that the mufflers would be filled with fiberglass but i could be wrong.

1 FSTMINI think the problem is that resenator is so small that the force from my manifold and sport cat is blasting the fibreglass through the resenator the header is a 421 header the cat is verry free flowing i have even used the janspeed decat and canot tell any change in power between the sports cat and decat that i used on my old exhaust. as far as i can see most cars on nam with the volt exhaust do not have headers .

IF I WAS YOU I WOULD GO WITH A LARGER RESENATOR BEFORE I DO THIS MOD. NEXT WEEK I WILL GET MY REPLACEMENT VOLT EXHAUST . THE FIRST JOB I WILL DO IS REPLACE THE RESENATOR.I DONOT THINK THE EXHAUST CAN HANDLE A CAR OVER 200WHP.

My volt just came in and i'm stuck in school until 4:30 . Is there any typical gains i can expect when i install it? Will there be a difference in the butt dyno compared to the one-ball?
