OBX donut gasket

I know this has been talked about before, but I can't seem to find the threads on it. My OBX donut gasket seems to be on its last legs and I'm wondering what other people have done when theirs failed. The two bolts that hold the joint together with the two springs came out this week and the exhaust popped off from the header...very loud and very smelly lol. The donut gasket seems to have slipped out a bit and is pretty mangled. I managed to get bolts all back together, but I don't think they will stay in much longer than a week. Any help would be appreciated!!

Btw, the MCS sounds pretty cool with an open header . LOUD!

ThumperMCS, Here is a replacement gasket that should work.

What about it didn't fit right?
If it didn't slip right over the small piece of pipe behind the flange of the header you just need to gently scrape it with a sharp knife till it does.

It was too big...moved around the small piece of pipe you are talking about way too much. I'm still using my old one, but I doubt it wil last long.

What if I just removed the whole donut gasket thing all together and had a true flex joint welded in its place? Has anyone done anything like this?

Did you ever find a seal that works? My seal just failed today, spit out the side of the joint. The bolts and springs are still there but the seal is toast.

Anyone out there have a part number and/or source?

Some other car has the same gasket. I have found the exactly the same measure from one Peugeot (i do not know which) and it's even better quality like the OBX.

I am happy with it. So get the radius of the gasket and ask in some Autoparts shops.

Bye

I tried a few, even ordered one from supersprint and nothing fit right. I finally got the same flex joint and flange that RMW uses for their header

What about just going to a muffler shop and having them fix everything up?

I did that and they said that they needed the right gasket. I tried NAPA and a couple of others but none worked. I ordered a direct replacement from supersprint that was wrong and then supersprint sent me three other sizes that would not work. That is why I switched to the better flex joint

1FSTMINI is right, why don't you just email this vendor. They should support the product they sell. I think he deals directly with the manufacturer. info@sparktecmotorsports.com

I bought mine from him when he first started selling them on ebay and haven't had any issues with the donut gasket.

Hey FISHER, "I have found the exactly the same measure from one Peugeot"
What a teaser, dig that info up and contribute.
