Hey guys the remark about the patent was supposed to be a joke. Sorry I forgot to add some smilies and what not.

First, I apologise for not responding promply to posts, Pm, and email. My laptop took a crap, I could receive but not send or it was "hit or miss" I am now on a back up and it seams OK.
Gnaster and Partsman, you both got it right! I posted to share not to wait, and sue for intelectual property infringment. This is public domain now Have fun, copy all you want, improve, there is a lot of room for that.

ChrisMCS04 I don't think there is anything that could be patented in that. Peter at Minspeed makes a very good one, the MCS GP, I understand, comes with it (never seen one) .

Partsman, Yes I hollowed the foam edges and filled and sanded and filled and sanded...... Not good from a production point of view , in real world, a mold would be made of all the different parts so you don't have to deal with this! Where was my CNC machine . I do not have a "blue print" But I have "door skin" templet of the flat deck , from there, everyting is subject to interpretation .

ChrisMCS04; I've seen and smelled that suit more than you can think of

Squilz: Done the earings, for my ex-wife, BIG catamaran sailboats whith kevlar sails. nice! hope my daugther get those one day I wasn' t always in the race car business

Tulls:keep them coming I love your replies, we need the humour

To all: if you have tech. questions about this project or other you see on my gallery , please feel free to post here rather than PM. I type at snail pace, I'm not always in places with free DSL, and the info that comes out benefits more than one person. Think of the thread as a think tank with Tull swiming in there

Well I am glad I am still funny to someone... I have been telling people as of late... hey.. half of what comes out of my mouth is souly for my entertainment... pay me no mind if I am offencive... LOL...

I do want one of those toilets though... I am hooked on the carbon... no one will be using that toilet but me... especially with that price tag...

but I would gladly pay for one of these seat deletes.. sometimes it's nice to pay good money for good products insted of always having to make everything... so now that YOU made it... I want one.. HA HA! so you have plans to this then so I can make one

carbonized, with this effort, I'm not sure there is much left to improve upon at all! You took this to a whole new level. Kudos to you, and for sharing with us.

I'm guessing that I did one of the first rear seat deletes for a MINI about 4 years ago, but after seeing this, all I can say is wow! If you do indeed go with a straight exhaust, battery relocation can be a bit tricky. I think it will fit on the rear floor, under your deck though. I actually think I have a photo of my battery in my gallery... but I don't remeber. Again, fantastic work!

i'd settle just for losing weight off the top of my car in the sunroof portion. I've always regretted getting it because i can't stop light from coming in and because it weighs a crapton on the highest part of the car.

He will get around to it and then make just one .

As I said earlier SID when can yo get down here to help me lock him up in his garage. A few days of sleep deprivation using loud continous music and bright lights should get him to start seeing things a bit differently.

Brilliant piece of work.

Would be a shame to see it get duffed up when subjected to everyday use.

Can you do a Carbon Fiber stomach and butt for me? I'm sure there is quicker weight savings there than any other place in my mini!!!

Seems like if I was a good friend I would be there helping him and learning how to do this stuff so I could learn and do it too!

Thanks!
As far as I'm concerned it WORKS LIKE HELL at iddle, I don't have the equipment of Dr phil or Partsman to realy come up with #s. But you cannot keep your hand over the vent after a 15 miles commute. Makes you wonder where all that heat would go without it? It is very simple to instal, not to make
What material would you recommend I use to try to make one of these since I do not have access to carbon fiber?

I was wondering if these were done or not. That is something that I would be highly interested in.

with several coats of urethane on top of the carbon/resin, it is a very durable surface. and if you built it yourself, it isn't too much work to shoot on a fresh coat of urethane and polish.

check out raka.com they usually have cf cloth in stock. they are a mail-order/e-bay company mostly. i'm pretty good at cf work, but not in carbonized league. the reason that he isn't jumping all over the opportunity to build these commercially is the labor required. he isn't a chinese factory. there is no way to justify what it would cost to produce this piece. i tried w/ a much simpler version and it still wasn't cost effective.

Looks like raka.com's domain name expired and one of those unscrupulous types stole and redirect to their own page with an offer to sell it back. Hate when that happens. Tried to call them but it's after 5 EST so they didn't answer.
