Pulley install on Auto Transmission: Question

I am planning on doing an install of a 15% pulley next... I have detailed install instructions however I assume they were written for manual transmission applications.

Has anyone ever done an install of a 15% pulley on an MCS with an auto tranny? Are there any details I need to be aware of when raising the engine that is different to a manual transmission install?

Thanks!!

I don't remember the exact details, but on the autos you have to be really careful when lifting the engine as to not damage or crack the radiator. The clearances are much closer I think. I have heard of an auto guy doing the pulley DIY and in the process cracked the radiator, tried to pretty it up and go to a dealership, but they figured it out. When I had mine done, I just let the pros handle it that has done a bunch of pulleys. It did cost me more and less bonding time with my machine, but not breaking vital things was more important to me than doing it myself.

But it can be done yourself! Just take your time

Hope this helped and excited for you when its all done

Thanks for that advice... Aside from everything else, I will pay particular attention to the radiator.

15% pulley on an auto

I had mine done by Randy Webb when he was doing pulley parties. If I remember correctly, he took off the right front wheel and wheel well before lifting the engine. Good luck.

YES BE VERY CAREFUL on the coolant lines leading to the AT. Other than that, same as, same old! Good luck and enjoy the new power! You will LOVE it!

Ask BlimeyCabrio, he may be able to help you out. He had his installed by Grassroots Garage I think.
