New boost gauge

I just installed my boost gauge tonight and went out for a short ride to see how it works.
Heres what I saw while driving.
at idle 15-20 vac
wot max 14lbs boost
on the gas and shifting through the gears 10-11lbs boost.

does this sound about right? hopefully Sid or longbord will reply as they have the same head and header.

going to the dyno tomarrow at 10am to see what Ripper is putting down

go to electrical section of the forum. I posted "Boost Expectations" and few members have numbers. I have not installed mine yet and in process of fabricating an aluminum extention to be attached to the back of the tack. I will post mine soon.

That sounds right. It's what I get as well. However I'm on OEM head and header. After I did the Detroit Tuned BPV I was seeing as high as 19PSI boost at times which was kind of wild.

mine's in different specs... but it sounds correct... im seeing about 0.8-0.9bar vaccum when the throttle is off... at WOT it goes to about 1.2 bar (about 16 psi)

its worth to note i got a 15% + 2% crank

When I first got the RMW head I didn't have a gauge. Now that the Rotrex is on the car I added a Craven Speed flex pod with an Auto Meter boost gauge on one side and an Ipod on the other.

At Idle I see the same as you. At WOT I see 18lb's and an incredible sucking sound coming from the intake .

From what I have seen your's sounds about right for a 15% pulley (14-15).

With the RMW head you will actually see a little less boost, not much, but a litttle. After ours was installed it was reading about 3-4 less than before

What build date is your car Ripper?? good luck on the dyno today.

I think the Mini community has converted me to a dyno racer as I feel like I've been cold turking the last few days without any dyno sheets to look at.

I had Dan at GrassRoots put mine in the air vent, originally stock and now with just a CAI, I still only get 11lbs on full boost, that's just dropping off a rev at a stop light in the pic. The pulley must really crank it up!

It's not THAT racey. I think you mean "sensor" but I have no idea where to put it.
