WHP LIST

Hey folks, Im looking into getting a Mini S supercharged.
but I'd like to see what whp you guys are pulling from this lil guys.
I have watched the crazy side of mini at fireball tim's 600whp drag car and one of his shop employees that as one with 300whp and what to get it up to 400whp and its his daily driven mini. which would be nice, but I think 250whp would be something crazy, my friend in his 99 vw gti vr6 had a very hard time keeping up with a 03 mini S. and the mini gets better MPG. lol

Well in the 1st generation section of the forum there are few threads that have Mini owners going to 250whp without changing the SC. Just lots of mods which include a big valve head/cam, headers and the other conventioanl ones like the pulley, exahust and intakes. There are few tuners in south cali that are doing some revolutionary work/tunes on the cars that the 230+ whp is becoming the norm.

I am currently running at 208whp with a timming probelm which will be resolved and in which will put me in the 220+ whp club. That's just the start, with a newly programable tune that is in the works along with few parts I am hoping for somewhere close to 240 whp.

In realistic terms, I think 200 whp is the number everyone is reaching for. 230whp and 250whp is possible with the stock M45 supercharger, but not without 6-10k in engine parts/labor. The Fireballed guys get 300 and 400 whp out of their Minis because they ditched the s/c and went turbo only.

^^ The reason is b/c with a s/c you can only get 50% effeciency while turbos are 70-77% effeciency. So if a s/c mcs is running 20 psi, it equals to about 10 psi that is really usable. Effeciency is the ratio of how economical the boost is that is also relavent to the temp of the air that is being forced into the intake. The colder air is, the better engines run. Thats a big difference of % effeciency. Although each has their pros and cons.

You are forgetting the twin charge guys...you don't have to be turbo only to get to the 300-400(up to 450ish)WHP.
