Radiator fan

Does anyone know at what coolant temperature the radiator fan will kick on and stay on after the car shuts off? I don't think I have EVER heard my fan stay on or come on after the car is off, even when its 110+ and have driven hard. Does anyone else find the same thing?

Yeah, unless you've driven real hard and immediately shut down, it shouldn't stay on. The only time mine's done it was after a botched coolant bleed.

Mine kicks in quite a bit while the car's running (Mostly when the AC is on as well) i've had it come on 7-8 times after driving, but mostly after leaving the car idling for a while or something. It's done it more after my head install, but it's also making 30 more HP now so i'd imagine that equates to more heat generated. I may have a bubble in my cooling system, to be honest i've never had any overheat issues so I don't really care.

It may not overheat but if you have a bubble you'll have a localized hot spot. Bad for a number of reasons. Also you could be pulling timing and not know it. Losing hp possibly.
I also wouldn't depend on the OEM temp gauge. In your locale a real temp gauge is almost a must.

According to my Scanguage 2 my MCS fan kicks in at 110c (230f); normal operating water temp around 90c (194f).

The water temp usually only rises when I'm stuck in traffic.

My fan almost always runs for a minute or two after I shut down. I consider that a good thing. My scangauge shows my water temp is in the proper range and consistent.

I am under the impression that most TC cars do that in order to vent the exhaust fumes and prevent corrosion of the turbines. I don't know anything about TC, though, except that they go zoom!

I don't see how the radiator fan can do that. The turbo has an oil cooler that also runs after shut down. But it is much quieter.

Actually it's an aux. coolant pump for the built-in turbo timer for the R56.

On the R53, the high speed fan kicks on when the coolant temp is about 220F. The Bentley manual says the exact temp.

I didn't know the fans on these cars would run after shutdown. Mine never has, even after tracking, although I do usually open the hood after a session. I only notice the high speed fan kicking in when stuck in slow traffic after pushing it a bit.
