Drivetrain Blow Off Valve
Blow Off Valve
Dumb question BUT- Can you put a blow off valve on a supercharged engine. Like something such as... Hmmm.. I dont know, Maybe a MINI COOPER S!?
Just curious, i mean boost is boost whether or not it is coming from a turbo charger or a supercharger......

holy crap we went a whole 2 weeks without this showing up as a post...
We should have a sticky that counts the days that have gone by with out a Blow off Valve post... you know, kinda like one of those... No accidents in ?? days signs.

To the OP - no, you can't have a blowoff valve, but you can put in a fake one.
A BOV is not needed in a supercharged engine. The SC has a fixed displacement, unlike the turbo which will 'overboost'. You could vent to atmosphere, which might sound cool (to some) but you would then be losing boost.
LOL!
