250 Pounds????????

Randy sells it for $160. With the dollar today, you could have it shipped overnight, pay the duty and the VAT and still have enough left over for a ride on the Pembroke ferry.

How do the UK products compare in cost and performance?

Sorry, the Viper is 250.00 Pounds in the UK. At http://www.PipercrossUSA.com the Viper sells for 285.00 usd. The Pound conversion in usd for 250 Pounds is over 350.00 usd. But, because of the competitive market in the US we sell at a cheaper price.

BlueMCS is referring to the cooper s induction kit.

BlueMCS,

All Pipercross products are made at the same place. So they are the same products.
We just can not get the aerosol oil in N. America. So, we have a plastic bottle with oil instead.

I installed one & was very pleased with the results. There was a noticeable power improvement from 2500 RPM & a significant increase in power felt from 4000RPM to redline. I didn't put the car on a chassis dyno so I cannot give you before & after HP/Torque figures for my vehicle. I have seen from 10 to 12 additional HP quoted from Pipercross & distributers. I have not found another mod for the Non-S that offers a comparable advertised power gain for the money. I've done quite a few bolt on & internal modifications on a number of small displacement motors (British, German, Italian) & it certainly feels like a legitimate ten horsepower gain to me, but my perceptions may be of no value to you.

You might do a search on 'Viper' to uncover some fairly recent threads. Several others on MCO have also done this mod. Have a look at their comments & see if you think their experiences warrant the price. Over on the Mini2 online forums you will find a number of threads from UK owners who've installed the Viper. All are subjective with no before/after dyno data.

There are also two other fairly new cold air intakes for the Non-S (the green filter 'twister' & the BMC intake) but they also have had no dyno testing.. Aside from some exhaust testing there has been little independent dyno testing of any Non-S performance parts. It's still early days in the MINI aftermarket so that situation might change. or not..

Tracy,

The Viper pictured on your sight differs from the ones pictured on Pipercross' USA website. It looks like the picture on your website is the older style, are you now shipping the same one as shown on the Pipercross site?

Hello Retrum,

You must be referring to Carbon Viper filter on the Splash page of Pipercross USA.

Well I would like to say that Viper filter on the splash page is the Mini's, but it is not.

Pipercross USA sells Viper Kits for hundreds of Vehicles. The one you see there is for a Ford.

The bottom picture shows a break out of the kit for the Mini.

As we are really involved with the Mini Coopers through Diamond Racing. We sell more induction kits and viper kits outside the Mini Cooper line.

Hope this helps,
Tracy

Wait I do have posted a Induction kit that has a 90 degree elbow. Which is a old filter. We sell the straight pipe PX700 cone filter in the induction kit for the Cooper. This is the same cone filter that is used in the Cooper "S" induction kit.

Which by the way is the standard filter in all our kits. Other then the neck diameter.

I posted the correct filter.

Yes that was a old picture. We still sell that filter. Just not in the Cooper induction kit.
