SCDA HPDE Schedule
The Indy 8 Hour starts at 10 a.m. ET and will be streamed live on the GT World YouTube channel, as will Saturday’s qualifying sessions. Portions will also be aired live on the CBS Sports Network, from noon to 2 p.m. ET and the finish from 4:00 to 6:30 p.m. ET. For Indianapolis locals, a parade and static display is scheduled for Downtown Speedway on Main Street on Friday evening, weather permitting.
Congrats to James Clay, Bill Auberlen and Chandler Hull for their win at Indy Sunday.
I watched a lot of the race and in general it was a mess with drivers taking out cars like it was a demolition derby. Ugh And so many of the cars that were taken out were the leading car in class. Way to many full course yellows.
I am amazed that BimmerWorld made it through all of the carnage. So double congrats - first for getting to the end and second for winning their class.
S-driver hope you survived the after party.

Nice pictures. Great on the win!
I can understand drivers being upset. I would think car owners would be upset too. There were a lot of cases of unnecessary car contact and nothing being done. I think IMSA has also gotten lax on officiating.

I know it is an 8 hr race, but if you skip all of the yellow periods, it should only take an hour to get though the actual racing....
And if you want to see what is going on with the “lesser” GT cars (like BimmerWorld’s), just watch the last 5 min as I think that is the only coverage they got...

Compare the quality of this race to that one:
No comparison...
VIR is a better track anyway...

It was sad to see about the passing of Bill Prout. His son through SCDA did a lot to develop and promote HPDEs in this area, and he was a part of that. I am glad that their tradition is being carried on by Elivan.
Bill was a really good guy. I got to have a few conversations with him over the years. Did you know that Ian's last race car (or at least one of them) was a MINI? Bill was doing the tech inspection one day, after Ian died, and Bill got talking about Ian's MINI and how much fun it was to drive.
Bill figured if you were coming to do a DE you should have your car squared away……so he just gave you a “tech” sticker to show you went thru it. Something went wrong it was on you.
Big Boy tech!
Big Boy tech!
Happy Thanksgiving, Everyone!
I hope the end of this year’s track season for you has as many fond memories as it does for me. Getting in a new-to-me track was definitely a highlight, as well as finding that MINI did a credible job with making the Gen III JCW reasonably track worthy right out of the box.
And it looks like we all can give a bit of thanks to Elivan of SCDA for providing us with the 2022 season schedule and something to look forward to in the upcoming season.
Take care, stay healthy and MOTOR On!

Happy Thanksgiving back at you. After chewing up a tire on the turn 7 'jump' at NYST (what did they call that turn?) I doubt I'll be going back. Club Motorsports looks like an interesting layout. I'll see what the next year brings. Much of this winter will be devoted to restoring and jazzing up the engine bay on the classic Mini.
What is “Club Motorsports”?
Sorry you had issues at NYST. I don’t remember the name of T7, but I remember it was a motorcycle term...
Hey, maybe try the clockwise event. T1 will be exciting. That will be the 90 deg right hander at the bottom of the front straight. Hmmmm.... Let’s see.... going downhill flat out on a quarter mile straight. Maybe hit 130, hit the binders, hope they don’t give out, turn 90 deg and dive further downhill into a set of esses and then another, but really tight 90 deg right hander... Oh did I mention that if you miss your braking point at the second 90, the runoff is a swap...
Sounds fun...
I wish they had better spectator viewing. It would be fun to see the motorcycles run around there.

I’ve seen video of that track and heard comments about it. All really good; better than Palmer. Really far for me, though. I would need an overnight stay, like for you going to NYST.
