I'm not sure exactly what you mean by spec?

I think 14.4 at 96mph is almost exactly what car and driver came up with. For what it is worth, i built up a 1967 mustang GTA 390BB eddlbrock alluminum heads, hooker headers to 21/4 pipes locking diff with drag radials and my best time was 14.3 at 96mph, kind of dissapointing for a muscle car. The mini s is much more fun, just as quick and three times the gas mileage

In the other section, he indicated he's running an open exhaust dump (cutout, I'd guess), and a cone filter.

Yes, I actually just unbolted right after the downpipe and stuck on a filter.. Basic, free mods (I already had a filter - if not, autozone - $25 )

I don't remember which vid I saw, but a youtube search for 2007 mini 1/4 mile times will probably show, but they ran a 14.7 best in the auto MCS, and a 14.9 best stock in a manual tranny..so if they hit a 14.4 stock, that'd be sweet..probably excellent weather conditions..

It sounds like your weather was pretty nice, I was hoping it would have been cooler when I ran last month. Was it sunny? How long did you have between runs for it to cool down?

Yes, weather was definitely good outside.. I got there around 7pm. I'm in Florida I was at moroso.. Dark outside, cool weather, like I said about 65-70 outside.. The first run I waited about an hour because the mustangs kept breaking ..then, we ran, then about 45 minutes I had my 2nd run, then 30 minutes, then the last two I ran back to back

Ouch ! only 14.3 at 96......something had to be off, that sounds like a nice ride !. The mph fits the times so it doesn't sound like you were spinning too much.

I had a 70 Cougar (3100 pounds, 3300 with my butt in it) 351W, Eddie Intake, Holley 750 Vac sec, C4 w 3200 stall, 4.11 rear, small Crane solid cam, 10-1, stock heads with porting on the exhaust side, with 10" slicks. Best runs shifting at 6000 revs were 12.7's but I averaged 12.9's between 108 & 105. The guy who bought it took it and shifted at the redline of 7400 and was doing 12.5's. I shifted lower to keep her together for longer. What did you have for a converter ?

As for the MINIs, you're right, much more fun, and you can turn too ! Not really a drag racer in stock form though. I love country roads on the weekend !

Cheers,

Mike

Cool times dude!! For comparison purposes, I've got a modded S5 Mazda RX7 pushing 340 wheel horsepower. I ran the 1/4 at 13.0 with a 2.4 60' and crossing at 113mph! It should have been more like 12.7 thou cause I suck and the tranny shifting is slow.

How did you launch it? I just took my car the track yesterday and was having some problems with my 60 foots. I got the best results at around 3500 but the times weren't very consistent.

Easy for me, I have an automatic. I left foot brake to 1200 and let her loose.

First shift at 6200 all the rest at 6400... I think, it's been a while.
