Need a Better Starter

...starter package for waxing that is. I know I need a pc, backer plate and pads to start. Then Swirl, Finish, Amigo, and Epic, but the package comes with Cut not Epic. There are monster mf towels, just mf towels, and breakfast towels, err is that waffel towels. I already have glass, wheel and interior stuff but think how wonderful it would be if the starters paint package had all the stuff we needed to start. Guess I need a call to someone shortly to figure all this out. Gives me a headache. I'm taking a week in the Carribean and then going to figure this out. Maybe Heather could already have a beginers starters paint package laid out, maybe. Heather?

Is there an easy place to get OG's dvd?? That website is kind of confusing or hard for me to find an site and how to pay, as I don't use pay pal. OG?

I would call Heather and see if she would make a substitution on the package for you!

We do have starter bundles like the kind I think you're looking for, although you'd have to get 2 different (though complementary) bundles for the complete set.

We don't offer the PC & accessories with our standard Paradise Bundles only because not everyone wants to go that route. So, we package the PC and accessories as one bundle and then the chemicals + microfiber in another.

Here's what I would suggest:

&

Paradise Starter Bundle I
(which is different and much more complete than the Prima Starter Bundle)

The PC & Pad Bundle, with the Polish Bundle option is: $229.95 and includes:

Porter Cable 7336 Polisher
5" Velcro Backing Plate
One each of the four pads:
Black Finishing, White Polishing, Orange Lt Cutting/Swirl Removing, Yellow Cutting
plus
Prima Amigo
Prima Finish
Prima Swirl
Prima Cut

The Paradise Starter Bundle I is: $89.95 and includes:

Prima Mystique Auto Wash
Thumbless Sheepskin Wash Mitt
Paradise Waffle-Weave Drying Towels, x2
Prima Epic Wax
Paradise Skinny Applicator Pads, x1
Paradise Platinum Premium Microfiber Buffing Cloth x1
Prima Slick, quick detail spray
Paradise Monster Fluffy Premium Microfiber Buffing Cloth x1

Overall savings between the 2 bundles: $47.60!
($25.60 for the PC & Pad Bundle and $22+ for the Starter Bundle I)

Since you already have your glass, interior, etc areas covered, then the above bundles together give you everything else!

Items of note:
You may not need Cut right away but it's great for spot corrections (like when someone grinds their shopping cart into your paint even though you parked far from everyone else!)

You may want more microfiber than that... at least in the Platinum or Monster Fluffy types. However, this starter bundle intentionally gives you enough to do all the basics so you can then determine if (and how many and what kind) you want more.

I hope that helps! I you want something more customized, please feel free to give me a call! 1-800-405-9970

Enjoy the Caribbean!!

Ordered all the stuff to get started. Heather is as nice and helpful over the phone as she is here. Hopefully will have my care package today.

Heather, any advice on using DP products on fiberglass boats? Deep scratch in the glass??

Thanks for the kind words, rc'S! I only wish I could do more... I'm feeling like there simply aren't enough hours in a day! Thanks also for the order!

Yes, most of our products can be used on fiberglass boats too. Just let me know which ones in particular you're thinking about using on your boat and I'll confirm.

As for the deep scratch in the glass... I must ask: do you mean actual glass or a type of thick plastic? On the car or the boat?

If glass, then the options are fairly limited. As glass is extremely hard, most automotive abrasives (and many other kinds of abrasives) are not strong enough to abrade it successfully. I would suggest having a professional (ie, windshield repair guy) work on any deep scratches in glass.

If a type of plastic, then often times automotive abrasives (like the Prima polishes) can fix scratches of various depths.

Elaborate a bit more and I'll see if I can answer more completely for you.

It's a scrape I put in the fiberglass of the boat last weekend at the dock. Hand rubbing didn't do a lot for it. I was thinking the products I bought from DP would probably fix it, but wanted to ask.

I am also assuming that if DP products/tools work good (great) on cars they will probably work just as well on a boat. Would the marine grade wax be more appropriate than the DP/Prima wax for the boat? Cleaning and polishing products would probably work the same for both applications?

Maybe boat care is a new line for you!

rc'S,

I'll weigh in a little on this, as I've detailed several boats. Most boat-specific products marketed as such are not that great, and don't last nearly as long as some of the premium products you would typically use on your regular vehicles (think Zaino, Epic, etc.). In fact, the synthetic products are superior from my experience, and that's really all I use to detail boats with now. As for removing a deep scratch or cut in fiberglass, I guess it depends on the severity of the issue, but I don't think any detailing product or process would correct that, so you may want to check with a boat repair specialist instead.

Hope it helps,
Chris

Thanks cmiller18. Guess I'll use up the marine stuff and then go to the good stuff.

Do you have a PC? Swirl and the white (or maybe orange) pad might do the trick on the fiberglass. I don't think, as you already discovered, that hand rubbing will do very much to help.

I agree! Thanks Chris for chiming in... my opinion only comes from the feedback I've heard and read regarding this topic, as opposed to personal experience. It's great to have someone's opinion who has physically seen the difference.

I couldn't remember! I thought so, but I often forget who is who in terms of the NAM name and the real name!

Yeah, give it a try and let us know if it helps or not. Good luck!
