Two good finds today at Target

I normally do not buy detailing stuff at Target but I stopped in the automotive section today to pick up some windshield washer fluid and then looked around to see if maybe they carried Meguiar's Metal Polysh (they didn't). But I found two other cool things that I used this afternoon and were really helpful:

Vroom Small Tire Dressing Applicators - They come 2 to a pack, little (like maybe 1.5 inches x 4 inches) sponges with handles. Not the best quality BUT you're just going to gunk them up with tire dressing anyway so who cares. 2 in a pack for $4. At that price, use 'em once or twice and toss 'em. I used one today, perfect size.

Vroom Microfiber Pad w/Handle - This is the really cool thing I found. So there's a pack of two little yellow, round MF pads. Quality is average, whatever, I used them to apply Nero to my trim. But the little handle thing is very very cool - it has teeny little plastic velcro hooks on the back, and it will hold any MF pad. I hooked it up to my DP pads and it worked fine. I always said I like applying Epic by hand but my hand starts to cramp from trying to maneuver the DP Skinny MF pad...this solves the problem! I think it was $4 and included the handle and 2 of the pads. I went nuts Neroing my entire interior and all my trim. So much easier!

ML- i found it today at target. it is a perfect size. the flat sponge is a
nice touch too. i use those cheepo slim applicators from auto parts stores
with the yellow foam handle and gray applicator pad. it works okay, but
the arch doesn't do me any good, rather makes the foam weaker cause i
use the slim width of the applicator and not that arch.

im looking forward to trying out this vROOOOOOm one soon.

oh yah, forgot to mention that i was talking about the tire sauce applicator, not the MF pad with handle. also picked up more small containers for the
DP platinum MF towels that are on its way.

I saw a neato greeting card at Target today. It was flat electric blueish cardstock with a same color foil Classic Mini and said something really good on the inside about taking a drive and enjoying life, something very Mini Spirited. It was in the special handmade looking Birthday card section.

Thanks for the tip! I'll go there tomorrow to see if I can snap up a few!

I noticed that the blue applicator sponges that griot's gives are really... eh... ineffectual for a car that isnt huge. THis is now on my list this week, thanx for the tip.

you talking about the round blue applicators? those are awesome.

i have one for leathercare and one for their rubber and vinyl protectant.
if you go to the ContainerStore, they sell round containers that will fit
those pads perfectly too.

well, they run all over the place. yes they do make an even swipe but really, they soak up too much juice, kinda waste a bit of my purchase.

i finally went through my old inventory of foam applicators and tried the
Vroom ones ML recommended above.

the density of the foam works GREAT with Meg's InsaneShine tire
spray in a bottle. I just spray once into the foam and apply onto the
tire using very little product. the foam keeps the product near the
surface instead of other foam pads where they suck it towards the
handle. plus the handle is plastic and ergonomically
contoured so easy to hold (no need to wear gloves).

im running low on InsaneShine so bought a bottle of HotShine and will
give it a go probably next spring.

thanks ML!

Or Safeway, for us Northern Cal people.

I always make a tour through Target's detailing section...even though they rarely have anything I want.
