Dent Removal
Dent Removal
I posted this someplace else, but I thought I would check the detailing section to see if some of you guys can help. Does anyone know how hard it would be to get this dent removed? How much does this kind of thing cost? ...and these last questions may be dumb, but I've never used my insurance before. Can this kind of thing be applied toward the deductible? If so, will it effect the cost of my insurance? Thank you.

hi wannamini!
that needs to be heated up REAL well before pushing out. the access
point is from the front side, remove a couple of screws.
if that's a stress crease you need to get the root cause taken care
first before you fix it. metal has memory and even if it cosmetically
looks repaired, it's going to crease (fold!) again.
it looks repairable, but will need to be careful not to crack the
paint near the bends.

Could you go with just about any dent repair shop you think? Or would it be best to have a body shop look at it? And how do you know if it's a pressure dent or some careless twit soccer mom or an oblivious 80 year old with a walker who let their door slam into your car? Would a pro be able to tell a difference? Would the dealer?
Sorry for so many questions, Ken!
ETA - I also noticed that on his, his dent stretches across two panels. My dent is confined to the lower panel. I think a door DEFINITELY hit his.

now preventing me from finishing my post! ...yah, im at work.

The quality of the repair depends on the tech. most bodyshops have
a contractor come in. you can check www.dentwizard.com for your
nearest PDR tech to start off, or your MINI dealer will also have PDR
techs come in on usually a daily basis so check there too as the
tech will be more familiar with MINI's.

hard to tell from that picture. i would have to see it in person
and see if there is any stress coming from other panels pushing
against it. also the way the metal is bent at the mounting points, etc.

Yep. your dealer will have a PDR tech that can usually tell the
difference.
Ok, those pictures frightened me into running out to check Clara for mysterious creases.
