Paint Matching from ExpressPaint

I've had an '06 CR/W MCS for about 1.5 months. I hit a large farm cat going about 65 and it cracked up my Aero kit bumper. I bought some replacement touch up paint from Expresspaint.com to touch up the rock chips and the cracks in the bumper. I've put 3 layers on the little rock chips so far and it appears significantly darker than the surrounding paint .

On the bumper I've filled in the cracks with bondo glaze/putty and sanded that down. It looks pretty good, except for the marring from the sanding.

Has anyone had experience with touch-up paint being darker? I don't want to paint the large areas on my bumper that I've filled and sanded with this paint if it's going to dry darker.

I bought the color 851 BMW Chili Red.

Thanks,

Steve

What method are you using to apply the paint?

I picked out the chip with a dental pick. Then I wiped down the area with wax/grease remover. I have a paint 'pen'. I'm putting a little dab of paint on the end of a paper clip and dabbing it in the hole. I've put on 2 coats so far and as you can see in the picture, it's much darker!

The camera really doesn't do it justice. With the naked eye they look like really dark red dots. I was going to build up the layers then lightly sand and put on a clear coat.

that's a bad match.

or your bonnet faded a little? (?) also, i suggest you use a wooden toothpick, not a paperclip.

The bonnet is brand new. The digital camera gives it an orange look. I can assure you, the bonnet is chili red. It's got 3 coats of Zaino on it and it looks great, except it hasn't been washed in several days.

yeah I could use a toothpick too when I get the right paint. That paint pen was 14.95 plus shipping. Piece of crap. The color is not even close. Thanks for checking in on me here. You've got better ways to spend your time and I appreciate it.
