Quick Detailer Spray?

Anyone have a favorite quick detailer spray. I've tried Mothers and like it. I have Meguiars now and don't like it. Any others?

The general recommendation is to use the QD that goes along with your wax, as they should be designed to be compatible with each other. So Zaino people should use Z6 QD, etc.

I was using NXT, because it is cheaper and more readily available than Z6......but I swear that it is taking off my Zaino. I don't have any proof other than the fact that since I started using the NXT, water does not bead for hardly any time after I apply Z2. This is not a problem on my roof, which I hardly ever need to quick detail.

I am not going to use it anymore. Going back to Z6.

I like Speed Shine from Griot's Garage. Works well and good smell. Actually I use their whole line of products- pricey, but top notch.

Funny you should mention that, ignote.....I, too, used Meguiar's but like Mother's better. I have no idea why...it just seems to wipe off easier and restore slickness better w/ the Klasse I use. Been using Mother's for several years now. Don't use it, though, if you don't like a cinnamony smell.

Does that leave a slippery surface like the Mother's do? I like that... but
the thing about the QuikDetailer in the red bottle is that you can use it
on glass with no streaks.

Speed Shine seems to stay slick and keeps my wax working longer. I try to avoid the glass, but it doesn't appear to leave streaks when overspray hits and I give it a wipe.

I'll second this thought!

Before I got my MINI, I wasn't much for Zaino's Final Detail spray (Z6 on Steroids). It didn't do much for my Altima, but now, after a round of Z6, the Final Detail makes the paint slicker than I've evern seen.

I like Sonus Spritz better than Meguiar's - it leaves a super smooth surface. I noticed it when I used Sonus over a NXT Wax surface, as well as now that I have Klasse on my car.

The only drawbacks to Sonus are it is a little more difficult to take off than Meguiar's, and it has a wider spray pattern so it gets on my windows.

thanks for the info. I think im going to try that when I order something
next time from Griot's. I like that slick feeling after
detailing.

Eagle one...

Wax as You Dry works really good if you used like a quick detailer. I use a wet yellow micro fiber towel from Costco. Spray some on the towel, spray the car, whip it down, dry it off with a large mico fiber towel. It works better then NXT and Final touch. But I can buy Final Touch from the auto paint place for $17/gallon, so I use that most of the time, about everyother day.

I use Adam's Detail Spray. A spritz with a microfiber towel picks up dust and leaves a somewhat glossy appearance. It also gets rid of bird crap more easily than other sprays I've tried.

If you're going to use Meguiar's Quik Detailer or NXT Speed Detailer, you ought to use it with a Meguiar's wax like NXT Tech Wax or M21 Synthetic Sealent.

All of their products are formulated to work together. Using it on someone elses product is a risk that you take.

I just bought the Griots liquid wax, now that's some nice stuff. After you wash your car you spray it on then towel dry. They get too much of my paycheck as it is. But I do have to say not once have I been dissapointed with one of their products.

it would be nice if the forum had a nomination/voting function for product by category (such as this) and it floated to the top and moderators could make it sticky... would be happyfor the n00bs (I'm really trying *not* to be one )

The trouble is...there isn't an ideal all purpose Quick Detailer that works best across all wax types. If you've got Zaino on your paint, then use their QD, same for Meguiar's and anyone else.

Choose the wax that fits your needs, then let it dictate which products you need to use with it.
