17" S Lite Wheels with Imbedded Residue
17" S Lite Wheels with Imbedded Residue
my 2006 MCS with 17" Silver S-Lites already has some residue from my brake pads imbedded in the clear coat of the wheels. I guess small fragments spin off and are super hot and bond to the clear coat on the wheels. so how can i get this off and prevent it in the future??????
try to use a clay bar on the affected areas then either put a good coat of zaino or a wax of your choice and clean the wheels at least once a week.once you get them clean and waxed just use glass cleaner to clean them...hope this helps ya........
Just relax your sphincter muscle and allow the fesces to exit your body. You'll be much more comfortable.
Doood!!!

Relaxed is how you end up with wheels looking like those on my '79 Mercedes. There's a reason Tire Rack doesn't carry wheels that are silver with black pits. Might as well let the tree sap sit on the paint for a few months while you're at it. Yuck.
When I get a free weekend, I'm going to pull the wheels off the MINI, wash and clay bar them front and back and put a few coats of Zaino on. Then I will be able to relax.

Welcome to my world. When I come home from school (2 months
) I am gonna do the same thing. Heck, I might as well polish our "beater" - the Subaru. On that same note, how do you get around paint chips and DEEP scratches in plastic when you're polishing? I'd prefer not to destroy my foam pads. Maybe I'll just use a manual applicator?

Do that AND pick up new brake pads such as EBC Green stuff pads and you should be on your way to having clean or cleaner wheels. The breen stuff pads put out less dust and really really help keep your wheel clean. Be advised though that these pads tend to eat up your rotors faster, so it'd would be a good excuse to buy performance rotors at the same time. I feel your pain cuz I got white wheels
The rejex stuff is sworn by the WRX/STI car clubs here in Hawaii. Their wheels have major crevices and their bronze wheels get buggerred all the time by brake dust and end up looking like dirty copper after a while.
Hope this helps.
