Call the PET team...OCD Reaches New Extreme

I was changing my auto-x wheels back to my s-lites at 10:00 pm last night...in the semi-dark...

I decided that while I was at it, I might as well clean the inside of the wheels. As such, instead of going to sleep, I detailed the inside of my wheels. Now, if that does not represent the epitome of OCD, I don't know what does.

I am a sick man...

Can anybody top it?

My MINI hasn't arrived yet, so maybe this doesn't count being non-MINI OCD, but in prepping my '67 Camaro for a show this past weekend I Zainoed the subframe. I even scared myself when I did that!

Boy, would a psych have a field day with our crowd. I don't believe he/she would ever figure out what the underlying cause for this MINI mania could be. And there is no medication for it, either...except may a little Dragon dust.

Polished my stock muffler on my Cooper. No one could see it, but I knew it was there!

I've also detalied in the dark, flashlight in hand!

At least we're putting the obsession to use, and cleaning something!

- My neighbor told me my MINI gets more baths than he does.

- I have resorted to washing the car in my garage, usually with the door down so that my OCD doesn't get around more than it has.

- My other neighbor was floored when he asked what why my car was on jackstands all the time. He thought there was always something mechnically wrong with it. He hit the floor when I said nothing was wrong and that I was detailing the wheels and all the suspension bits, underside etc.

- My wifes friend to me that my garage is "freakishly" clean. I enjoyed that one. I told her it has to be because someday I'll most likely be living in there when the wife throws me out of the house.

Nothing wrong with any of us To me, my detail/garage time is my release of all my stresses. I enjoy the "instant gratification" well maybe not instant, of detailing and cleaning things.

How long do you guys spend on the engine compartment when you wash the car? On average I spend about 20 minutes there... too short?

Sounds about right. Remember if you keep it clean, it won't take as long.
I'm sure you also do the boot area opening and under doors

Yeah, and the door jambs (as far as my hands can reach), wheel wells, and mufflers.

It is all too much I tell you...TOO MUCH...

It was interesting... I had a 1989 Toyota MR2 that I bought for track work only. It was one UGLY pile of junk (albeit a FAST, ugly pile of junk). I fought the urge to detail it for one whole year It was kinda nice not to care so much....park in parking lots, leave it outside, don't clean brake dust off the wheels, don't wash or wax it. But it truly drove me crazy looking at it.

I need help... I am sick
