Where can I get Mothers clay?

After pouring through these threads and my autopia guide, I made a shopping list so that I could properly care for my MINI, since it cares for me everyday. Its kind of like a Valentine's Day treat.

Anyway, I can't seem to find Mothers clay bars anywhere unless I purchase an entire kit that includes wax I don't want. I have looked at many of the auto parts stores around here and Pep Boys had the best selection, but no luck for me.

Do any of you have any suggestions?

Butch

not sure where you are, but they have it at pep boys around here. The wax that it comes with is like small sampler bottle, I don't think it changes the price of the clay bar much, unless you see some different kind of kit.

If it's the one that comes with the small wax then i'd say that's all I could find. The clay is defintely worth it though, does wonders. Good luck.

Hey Butchcassidy, If your in So Cal you should come to our NXT detailing party! c3club.org for time and date, your welcome and we have clay to share. We use Meguiar's products, I have learned so much from our meetings about taking care of my baby!

I was actually looking for the Clay Bar to bring to our next party (Feb 12th in So Cal - see James' post). I was at Pep Boys buying Stoners Invisible Glass and the only clay they had was in a huge kit with a bunch of other stuff I don't want.

I was also at Target and no luck either.

Ster Ag--thanks for the invite. Unfortunately I work Saturdays, but it sounds like a good time and very informative.

The Pep Boys kit looked pretty large and they were asking 16 or 17 bucks. How much does the clay by itself run? If it is comparable, I'll go for it. Are there any other places to go to purchase the clay. I see it available on the car care portion of this site but I was hoping to do it in the next couple of days.

i'm pretty sure that's how much I bought mine for. The thing is you need the lubricant that comes with the clay. I don't know if you already have a lubricant you want to use and just need the clay or if you need the lubricant too.

Butchcassidy, I understand about working Saturdays, I have to fill in for my staff every now and again on Saturday.
Meguiar's has a Quick Clay Detailing System part no. G-1116 it's about $9 -$10. The problem is finding it, I have only seen it on Meguiar's site. They have a toll free number 800-347-5700, give them a call and see if they can tell you who carries it in So Cal.
Keep an eye out on our site for future NXT Detailing parties, if you get a Saturday off your welcome!
March we are not having a meeting, we'll be in Vegas for the AMVIV 2! Are you going? It's going to be a blast!

Thanks again. I'll just run back to Pep Boys and buy the kit. AMVIV sounds like a blast. I heard about it too late but will definately plan for it next year. Have fun over there.

A friend of mine came by a few weeks ago to use my Zaino kit and bought Mother's clay at Pep-boys with a sample of "Cleaner Wax". He didn't want the wax and I was happy to have it around... It's handy stuff to have to buff out small scratches and work off sticky bits of tar that don't want to come off... It's got extra solvents and a bit of abrasive in it to power through the more difficult stuff.

interesting. I still have the small bottle left as well. Maybe i'll give it a quick get go at the tar spots on the car. If it doesn't get rid of it, it shouldn't be too much of a problem since it never seems to last more than a few days anyways.
