Exterior Steam Clean

I've seen a few discussions online of people steam cleaning the car exterior, just wondering if Mini owners have done this and is it a good idea or not. Seems like an ok in garage activity on a cold wet winter day.

A commercial steam machine is really expensive so not worth the money since you will just use it during winter. A steamer also will strip the wax and sealant.

I've seen a few discussions online of people steam cleaning the car exterior,

have a reference? Never heard of steam on the exterior myself.

I USE steam on my 79's engine about once a year to cut oil/grease/scum .... but never on the exterior paint . . .

are you confusing a pressure washer with a steam cleaner? Even a pressure washer with hot water is WAY different from a steam cleaner . . .

learned something new

maybe

did you look at the website from that video?

I was wondering how doing an entire vehicle would work using my lil $100 home steamer .... it runs out of water in about 20 minutes of continuous use ....

I see their low end is $500+ and THAT is for a hour of steam .....

I'll stick with water!

The thought was to clean in the garage during winter chills with my steamer. Didn't work very well and having a one use dry steamer is not for me.
