PM Octaneguy. If he can't lead you thru the process, it can't be done.

Meguires Scratch X, followed by a good wax. The hood on my 3 Series (Jet Black) had marks that would not come out with anything else. I can't believe how good it looks. Be sure to follow the Scratch X with a high quality wax using a RO buffer because the Scratch X is abrasive and will cause micro scratching itself that will buff out.

I don't think Scratch-x will remove a chunk of sap as that is what I think they mean by this.

If you have an advanced auto in your area go there and get http://www.detailersdomain.com/Stone...tor_p_550.html

It will work really good if it is a fresh blob.

If it is rock hard and has been sitting there for awhile might need to be a little more aggressive with it. And I don't recommend attempting to be more aggressive if you don't know what you are doing. Might want to call a detailer.

Simple... Pantyhose and Sprite. It will remove the tar and then you can wash and wax the area you were working on.

Bug & Tar remover should loosen it up. You can use a medium grade clay as well, but it could possibly mar the surface and need some decent polishing afterward.

if just a few spots, WD-40 on a rag will probably disolve it then re-wax the area.

But if 'all over' ...

Spousal Unit took car on a week vacation once and the car sat parked under a very leaking tree for 6 days. When it came home the entire car was a sticky mess. BTW this was an NA (first model) Miata - no clear coat on the paint for those (most).

I ended up needing two DAWN washes with hot water, then a clay - changing clay 3 times more frequently than normal and some spots STILL needed rubbing compound and a reclay, then a cleaner wax . . . ugh. But it SHOULD be easier to clean a clear coat.
