Floridian in the north, How do I clean?

I am a Floridian who would be cleaning his beautiful new mini all year round. But I now live in Philly and its cold. Im trying to figure out how people wash their cars in the north, especially if you dont have a garage to wash the car in. I hear that the salted roads are really bad for the car.
What do all you northerners do in the winter?

Take advantage of any day above 40 and use a bucket of hot water I also use the self wash bay at the car wash to rinse the undercarriage

Get a good coat of wax on before winter hits and give it a good clean in the spring.

ha! that reminds me of when I was a kid growing up in Buffalo! I never saw anyone wash their cars during the winter. That must be why so many rust buckets are driving around! The first thing I noticed when I moved to South Florida was how clean and shiny the cars were all the time.

My method:
1. Wash and Wax and lock the MINI in a garage the first week of December.
2. Drive old honda civic till mid/end of March.

But yea, the warm water when it's above 35 works. Find a good touchless car wash for when it's below freezing?
