Adam's VRT
Adam's VRT
I was looking for some feedback on the Adam's VRT product. I have tried numerous tire dressings and most are greasy and sling residue on the side of the car. Does the VRT sling? Does it last? Would you recommend it?
Thanks for your help.

VRT is amazing! I use all of the Adam's line and have no complaints at all. The VRT will give a bit of a gloss but nothing crazy like the petroleum based products. I use Adam's fender brush with some of his APC first. Then I give it a nice rinse and finish it off with the VRT. You get a very clean tire that looks like it's brand new.
I'm a huge fan of Adam's if you can't tell. I used Meguiar's and every other off shelf detailing item for a long time. The off shelf stuff was awesome when I didn't know any better and wasn't really into detailing. Once I got more into detailing I was looking at something that was easy to use and simple.
A local guy is a distributor for Adam's and gave me some samples to try out. I was blown away. Everything was what I wanted and performed the way I wanted.
Now, I've got just about everything from Adam's and do see any reason to change anytime soon.

I use VRT and have used the Meguiar's as well and they are about the same to be honest. That being said, I prefer the VRT because it streaks less after water hits it. Neither is perfect but it will bleed a little if a lot of water gets on it. This is nothing that a little detailing spray and a cloth can't take care of.
Also, as with any tire dressing, apply it thin and let it sit for a while before you drive it. This will keep the sling down.

I have the endurance High gloss, but it slings. I must assume I am applying it improperly and using too much product. I will try to let it dry overnight and use less product per tire. Thanks for the help.

Yeah, a lot of people have this problem, but I've been using it for years, and have never had a problem on my car or a customers...just need to let the gel dry. The problem of making rubber shine is actually rather interesting. You got a piece of spinning rubber that's kicking up dirt and all kinds of road debris and yet we want the sidewalls to look dark and shiny. Anything you put on, unless it's totally dry will sling.
Prep the rubber using a sidewall cleaner. I use a nylon brush combined with Meguiar's tire foam...spray it on, scrub it a bit, rinse. Dry, then put on Endurance High Gloss, work it into the sidewall and the grooves. Put just enough to coat it, and wipe it evenly.
Let it dry for as long as possible...like overnight. The spray on Insane Shine is even easier to use than Endurance High Gloss and much cleaner since you apply it from a distance, but doesn't last as long, which is ok, because reapplying it is quick and easy.
