How to care for the Leatherette?

My '09 came with the standard leatherette -- what's the cleaning and detailing procedure? (FYI: I'm a detailing enthusiast, autopia.org member, but just w/out much free time...)

I have high quality leather cleaners from my old car, but, should I use those for the leatherette? I'm guessing the answer is no...

The answer isn't no...it's "NO!!" Use 303 Aerospace Protectant or Prima Nero.
You can order 303 from many online vendors or you can purchase at your Local Pool Supply Store; Prima Nero can be ordered through one of our stupendous NAM Vendors!!

Ken, why 50:50 Nero/Water?? I use it straight on a Yellow Foam Pad. I use 303 mostly, but when I was out of 303 Nero is what I used.

I'm with Ken on the 50/50, Nero/water mix. I find Nero does not spread as well at full strength, so you need to use more of it to get an even look. Plus if you knew Ken and I better, you would know we are both kinda cheap

Back to the OP's question, I have been using 303, and Nero on my almost 7 year old leatherette, and it still looks like new

Who would be so kind as to give me a product link(s) ?
autogeek.net, and amazon don't get me Nero. I tried detailer's domain and they don't have it either?
EDIT: found, http://stores.shopprimacarcare.com/Categories.bok

Didn't realize Nero works on the leatherette. I already have Blackwow for the trim, would it work just as well as Nero?

Nero can be found here

Slightly OT, but the best way to care for your letherette? Cover it with Wet Okoles.

Now back to your regularly scheduled detailing thread...

If I was to cover my seats, I'd put leather w/ some red stripes...

I wouldn't. The MINI leather doesn't wear nearly as well as the leatherette! I too use Nero, although I don't cut it with water. I spray it onto a fat paradise pad and it works just fine

Oh I didn't mean the factory leather option (I sat on it, didn't find it comfy at all. Looked nice, but not worth the $$)... but I've always loved seeing black leather with red highlights.

I bought this Nero, impressions will be posted when I get it and use it.

dries much faster and the slickness goes away quicker too. for rubber floor mats, i just wash with carshampoo outside the car and just spray nero/water mix liberally coating it completely...then dry in the sun.

I use Simple Green on my WeatherTech Floor Mats because of the roughness and crevices I spray SG on them and then take it off with a MF Towel. Now that I have enough 303 and my Local Supplier will order the Gallon size for me I won't ever be without!!
