Could someone please measure the diameter of a grit guard? I need to know whether it will fit my existing bucket. TIA.

Please disregard my last post; according to USPLASTIC.COM, it is 10 1/8 inches; correct?

No, look again... it is for a 12 inch bucket. They list the actual diameter too (10 1/8").

A much better performing alternative to the Grit Guard is the Dirt Guard thanks to the filter element that catches and holds the dirt. The fingers on the bottom of the Dirt Guard expand out to fit more buckets than the GG although it's still a good idea to take the GG or DG with you when purchasing a bucket since the same buckets vary on their internal dimensions enough to make the difference between a loose fitting and snug fitting one.

I've had them both - Grit Guard and Dirt Guard - Dirt Guard works so much better.
